What's new

Following 2016 potential draftees

Maker seems too slim to play the 5. He'd have to play the 4 until he can add 20 - 25 lbs. He's raw offensively. I think his offensive development may end up being a process like Derrick Favors. He's pretty raw right now. However, if you want him, I think you have to take him at 12. Someone could trade up to take him at the end of the lottery.

I'd be interested to see how people rank the 8 - 10 bigs in the first round of this draft. I'd generally rank them like this ---

1 Simmons
2 Chriss
3 Poeltl
4 Ellenson
5 Bender
6 Davis
7 Sabonis
8 Labissiere
9 Maker

Damian Jones is a better prospect than Sabonis, Labissiere, and Maker.

How on Earth could you rate Skal above Bender? That is just ridiculous.

They are close to me. 2-5 are very close in my books. I just love Skal. Call it irrational love if you will. I think he's getting his body sorted out away from being in the mix for top 3 player in this draft(in the long run). I love almost everything about him - length, athleticism, size, movement, hook shot with both hands, some spin moves in the post, great touch around the rim, great mid-range shot with potential to extend it to 3p range, great rim protection potential, and with some work he might become a great overall defender. His potential is everything you might ever want from a 5 in the league. I'm not saying he will reach it. I think he's the most busty one from pretty much everybody on that list, but I like the high end potential and in a draft that I hate, I'd rather bust on the guy I can see developing into something special than on role players.

One thing that scares me about Skal is - I don't know his work ethic and his personality. I don't know how driven he is to improve. If that's a true problem for him, he would plummet with tremendous force down my rankings, because most of the things I see in him being special depend on him working his butt off to improve. If he doesn't have it in him, he will fail. As simple as that.

1. Ben Simmons
2. Skal Labissiere
3. Dragan Bender
4. Thon Maker
5. Marquese Chriss
6. Jokob Poeltl

Good list. I like that it's not even remotely the same as everyone else's.

01. Ben Simmons
02. Dragan Bender
03. Jakob Poeltl
04. Marquese Chriss
05. Henry Ellenson
06. Ante Zizic
07. Skal Labissiere
08. Deyonta Davis
09. Thon Maker
10. Diamond Stone
11. Domantas Sabonis

And to be perfectly honest. . . I'd be pretty damn happy with any one of them.

I am pulling the maker train out of the station. Who's on board?

I am completely open to trading down to get him. I like the idea of 15 and 19.
I'm on the maker train.

I have heard very little about Davis in this thread

Good post.
From what I saw in the highlight video I can't really argue against anything in the quoted part of your post. Pretty good skillset

This top 7 seems to be the most accurate to how I'm seeing it. I think your top 7 is the best yet.
