Is Beal really a better prospect than Rivers? I haven't seen Beal play very much. DX has Beal at 10 and Rivers at 16.

It's a very good question and impossible to answer. Most of the Beal love is predicated on him getting his shot back. He's shooting 32% from the perimeter this year. Not good enough, at his size (for a SG), to be in the lottery, imo. I do think he gets the number up ... but early love for him was because of shooting 50% from 3 in HS.

Perry Jones is killing it right now 12 pts 5 boards in the first 10 minutes against k state. I like him a lot, a bit of an underachiever but he has always played with chuckers who have no interest in getting him the ball.

No one has ever disputed the talent level.
There's only two big question marks;
1) Does he have the desire (really) to be the best he can be. I think no.
2) Can he really play SF in the NBA? I think no.

That drops him from his natural spot of 3 or 4 in this draft to around 7 or 8, imo.

Tangent: Perimeter (ball-handling and/or stretch) 4s are better to have than giant 3s. What is a player like PJIII (or AK) supposed to do with that height/length advantage if they don't have a post game and if they can't necessarily beat their guy off the dribble? I'm not saying it's not AN advantage, but comparing that to the advantage of forcing bigs to guard on the perimeter (they usually can't, and that opens up the lane for the rest of the offense)? Give me that guy as a 4, please.

His offensive game is ridiculous when he actually gets it going, great shot, great touch, pretty good ballhandler, good range, smart, unselfish, freak athletically. Just his motor and heart are questioned, and rightfully so. I still contend that playing with Jackson and whatever his name was last year, two of the biggest chuckers in recent memory has really hurt him.

That's why Terrence Jones is still mocking around 10-12. He bangs in the post, hits his 3's at around 38%, and is 255lbs .. nice first-step ..
I'm not real high on him, but there are reasons others are ..
