Following potential 2012 draftees

PKM, Don't let the self-righteous jazz fans bother you. I have been a Jazz fan from day 1. I was one of the 6,000+ people who attended the first Utah Jazz game in SLC. I've been disappointed so many times I can't remember. I still haven't recovered from the highway robbery called the !998 NBA finals. I want a championship in the worse way. I am not getting younger and have grow impatient with the "it is important to make the playoffs crowd". They are entitled to their opinions but many of them take the next step and start question other's Fandom. I will be a Jazz fan for life but we already know that making the playoffs is not the ultimate goal. I believe this is the right opportunity for the Jazz to be a true contender and for me to say trading DW was the right thing to do. If we make the playoffs but don't develop our young guys then the Jazz will just be a run of the mill team for the next decade. Something I do NOT want to even consider.

That was a most descent post. ;)

Seriously though, I enjoyed this one.

So assuming we get the 8th pick in the draft, who does everyone want? I feel like PJ3 would definitely have the most upside of anyone left on the board, but I still feel like Marshall would be a perfect fit for us. If we have two picks, I may just take PJ3 and hope Marshall falls to us at 13/14. What's everyone feeling now that the tourney is over?

I think it's possible, but not probable, that Barnes falls to #8 (okay, not likely, at all) and I would take him first, if so.
After that, PJ3 is the most likely get at #8.
If gone, Marshall could be of value even if not BPA.
If all 3 are gone (and no other surprises fall), Henson, Zeller, Sullinger as trade bait.
Or perhaps (do NOT blast me) a Terrence Jones ... wouldn't happen, but if it did, I feel I could make most feel better about it.

I've been a fan of tjones for some time. He seriously has a game made for the NBA. I would not pass on pj3 for him, but would not mind trading down a few spots for him in this scenario. Something about him reminds of a less crazy odom.

I'm on the PJ3 team. I still firmly believe that if the Jazz want Marshall/Lillard bad enough they will make the trades necessary for them.

I also think that if the Jazz really want Marshall/Lillard then they will be able to trade an asset to a fringe playoff team to get one of them.

I've come a long way on Marshall. I thought he was worthy of 20'ish, pre-season. I would be willing to trade down to get Marshall now .. or even try him at #8 (gasp) ..

Same. Ideally, I'd want Marshall + PJ3 or Rivers. Imagine what Marshall could do with the likes of Jones, Favors and Kanter...

I'll make a BOLD prediction (not by Mock standards, but perception) .. TJones will be as good, or better, than PJ3 .. I'll hang up and listen.

It looks like Lillard could be the first pg off the board. Not sure we'd have a shot at him at 14. Same with Marshall.

I think we'll be looking at Miller, T. Jones, Rivers, or a back-up big. It's too bad that Wroten can't shoot.
