Following potential 2012 draftees

Agreed with what they are saying on Miller. The guy looked flat out sorry in the workouts. If I didn't know he was super long, I wouldn't really care who he was. I think I'm 100% off the Miller bandwagon now.

I wouldn't be surprised if Robbie Hummel has a better career than Miller.

He does seem to be dropping. 2nd rounder?

I don't think he will drop out of the 1st round, but I wouldn't be completely surprised. The kid has no chance to contribute his 1st year in the league, I feel confident in saying that.

I have always felt it would take until his 3rd year. Once that happens he will be considered a steal.

Count me out as a Miller fan. i have a hard time trusting anybody who would go play at Baylor and I really question his work ethic. He has a lot of untapped potential, but I don't think he'll ever get it all out.

The list of players who have had similar issues and been drafted as "projects" rarely pan out, but I can definitely see the upside though. He either needs to get stronger or quicker, fine tune his shot (it looked ugly in the combine), and just work on working hard. If he can do all that he can be a steal, I just wouldn't want to draft him.

Is it just me or do the standing reaches not look right?
For example:

Andre Drummond:
Hieght w/shoes
6' 11.75"
Wingspan
7' 6.25"
Reach
9' 1.5"

Carlos Boozer...
Hieght w/ shoes
6' 9.5"
Wingspan
7' 2.25"
Reach
9' 0.5"- 1 '' smaller than Drummond!!?!?!?

Hell, let's make PKM mad.
Anthony Davis:
Hieght w/ shoes
6'10.5''
Wingspan
7' 5.5"
Reach
9' 0" Smaller than Boozer?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Standing reach is weird since having long arms doesn't necessarily mean you will have a long standing reach. Long arms can of course help, but a player's entire physiology has as much to do with it as long arms. Standing reach is extremely important for bigs; their head height is meaningless. 9'1" is the starting point for decent center length and about 9'3" is getting elite (Cousins has incredible length for example). It's more complicated than standing reach of course. I'm surprised in Davis' standing reach and also noticed there's not a lot of great length (standing reach) in this draft. Judging from his reach and weight, Davis will probably never be a center in the NBA, but could be a Garnett style PF.

I'm just wierded out by how awful this draft class' standing reach is. I was wondering if there'd been a change, but that makes sense. A player could have a long neck accounting for the hieght and that would reduce his reach as well. But seriously, Anthony Davis can only reach as high as Boozer? That seemed off, way off.

Agree. Can you find any images of Carlos that look like this?
