Depending on if the jazz get 1 or 2 draft picks next year will determine if I like Marshall or not. If the an get a prolific scorer first then Marshall is a safer pick.
I'm not worried about him being the next Darko...but sometimes I do worry he'll be worse than Knight.
I know that this thread is for actual players but I am excited to see what UNLV and Saint Louis do for the rest of the season.
The Billikens are certainly a surprise and on a nice run, have you always had an interest in them .. or just mostly interested in seeing what the over-performers can accomplish?
Yes. I actually was extremely impressed with UNLV. They seemed to be in control the entire game against UNC. I know that they were basically the home team and that their crowd makes games more difficult. With that being said, they looked hungry and willing to do the dirty work as a team, and not just individuals. I would say that they might just be the surprise team of the season so far.
I thought they looked like a nice team, but I was more impressed with the coaching. Loved their freshman Gil (iirc?), gonna be a stud. The coaching, however, won that game and Dave Rice deserves ALL the kudos that can be heaped on him. Best coaching job I've seen in .. maybe ever .. was astonished throughout the game.
Marshall cannot and will not be an NBA player unless he develops a shot. People will play 5 feet off of him rendering him ineffective. I like the kid and want him to succeed, but unless he develops a shot he won't.
I wouldn't be quite that definitive/strong. But then again, I'm not a dukie.
I don't let who I root for effect how I view opposing players NBA prospects. If you look back, you would see me continuously saying that I thought Tyler Zeller would be an effective player in the NBA. Do I like UNC as a program? No. Do I recognize when they have good players? Absolutely. I think Marshall is an amazing college player, and he fits UNC's offense very well. He does have the added benefit of playing with people like Harrison Barnes, Zeller, John Henson....guys that he can just give the ball to and let them do work. Obviously he has amazing vision and is a great passer, I just think he will struggle in the NBA. As I said earlier, He's Marcus Williams from UConn all over again.
