Maybe ..

He has good handles, can pass (he's just always rather shoot), sees the floor well, and doesn't flinch in adversity. A lot of college freshmen have a difficult time transitioning from them being the only scoring in option on their high school team, to being surrounded by scorers. That's why so many appear selfish (which I think Rivers is). Having said that, Rivers wants to win more than anything else. I don't see him as selfish as much as egotistical .. which isn't all bad if handled properly.

Rivers can shoot from anywhere on the floor (NBA range with ease) and can slice into the lane anytime he wants. I think he has the tools and the smarts .. the question is whether he has the willingness.

He's going to be one of the underrated players in the draft if he's taken around 12 or lower .. and he probably will.
 
Apologies if this has been posted before, but I have a quick question. As a Norwegian the time difference makes it difficult to watch NBA-games and following college ball too is virtually impossible. I know that this draft is supposed to be stacked, but how high do you think a player like Derrick Williams would go in this draft? Will we be in a position to pick up someone like him with an 8th or 9th pick, or is that too big a stretch?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'd take Rivers ahead of either Beal or Lamb. I hate Duke and I dislike Rivers, but I think he'll be the better pro .. he has 'it.'

I'm completely sold on Rivers being an NBA PG. I know you hate Duke, but you can't deny that Coach K has had a good effect on him.
 
Due to his size, Beal seems like his upside would be Ben Gordon. That wouldn't be bad for an 8-14 pick, but would rather KOC roll the dice on a player with a little higher ceiling.

Bradley Beal is bigger than Ben Gordon. DX said that he was 6'4.5 in shoes as of April 2011. He also is also quite lengthy. His size will never be a problem in the NBA, or hold him back.

Ben Gordon was a combo guard in college also. Beal is as of a pure SG as a SG can get. I see no comparisons between them.

With our ball-handlers (Burks and Hayward) a shoot first point guard isn't the worst thing. Personally I am high on Kidd-Gilchrist and Rivers.

I would say #4 or so.

I think Quincy Miller's ceiling is a more creative, better passing Josh Howard. I think his floor is Donyel Marshall, which isn't bad. His combination of length, quickness, touch and passing out of the high post or mid-range could be the perfect complement to our front-court and back-court players. He could play a facilitator role in the offense like AK did, and could finish plays at the rim much better.

The NBA is about skilled length and skilled quickness. Quincy Miller has skill, length and should have adequate quickness. He's got the ability to drive, score from different angles, pass and handle a bit. That puts a lot of pressure on the defense.

I LOVE beal .. but he's a combo .. difference between him and, say, Wroten, is he's heady. Smart kid.

I worry about Beal's quickness and athleticism at the next level. If he can play PG, then great. He's got good size. At SG, I think he'll get chased off.
