Following potential 2012 draftees

I'm ok with Rivers if he is our 2nd pick, meaning we don't make the playoffs. I want a legitimate SF though.

I totally agree with you. What I am trying to say is add Miller or a legit SF, either through the draft or trades and then add Rivers, I can see the Jazz contending very soon.

I do not follow college at all. What do you guys think the best shooting SF in the draft is? I think that is exactly what the Jazz need. A SF that can stretch the floor.

If the Jazz have all three of those guys and can still draft Miller, then the Jazz just set themselves up to be better than OKC, Chicago and any other young up and coming team.

Seriously...all those guys plus Favors, Kanter, and hopefully still Millsap down low. Wow.

And it's very likely we could actually get Rivers, even with the last pick in the lottery (I still say the Jazz miss the playoffs).

There's question marks concerning all of them, but Harrison Barnes, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and Quincy Miller could all be very good pros.

@PKM

Have you heard anything concerning Rivers' ability to play PG in the NBA? Do scouts/GM's see it as an actual possibility?

Also, do you know if that's something Rivers would even want to do?

There's a lot of talk and positive speculation. There are NBA teams that are scouting him ONLY as a PG. I think Rivers is willing, but he'll certainly be a shooting PG, rather than a pure pass-first .. and you'd want him that way.

For what you described, Barnes, QMiller, Gilchrist in that order.

I still have that nagging feeling in the back of my mind. Every time I see the Jazz play well I just want to believe that it will continue through the entire season but then pertinent information like home games and kep players not playing for the competition etc come to mind.

Exactly. We have a good record atm, but as Charles Barkley recently said, we're not as good as our record. Our wins have come in a combination of a plethora of home games, and the opposing team's best player being injured. Plus, we've managed to stay relatively healthy thus far, but it would be a bit silly to think that will continue, even in a normal season, let alone a condensed 66 game schedule.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with the success of this team. But it's not hard (at all) to make the argument that we won't be able to continue winning at this rate.
