Following potential 2012 draftees

It is basically sacrificing your self for a win. Think mj with the flu. And ct mkg has the it. He just does what he has to to win. BaRnes had the it last year but has lost it.

The last game I watched of MKG's was against Vandy. He was completely shutdown by not being guarded, and didn't really see him shut anyone down on the other end. I just don't see how someone who can be ignored until he crosses the FT line can have "it" as a SF (unless their defense is truly amazing, I don't see that from MKG, I see opponents scared to drive it into the pit of doom that is Anthony Davis's paint).

His 3pt % along with his FG % continue to drop each week as teams are figuring out "Hey, we don't have to guard this guy at all". I like his rebounding a lot, and his defensive play, but those don't outweigh his flaws.

His ceiling is Shawn Marion. I doubt he will ever be able to reach that ceiling unless he is put in the right system (Mike Dantoni era Suns style).

You know what Cy? I think you may be right. I've watched the games, the practices, sat by him a couple times on the plane, know the kid well. More than ANY kid I've ever seen play the game, he wants it. He deserves it. He earns it. I'm just getting to the point that I'm not sure he can do it. He is an awesome kid, a great baller, a locker room gem, but I don't have confidence he'll produce on an NBA court like the rest of the top 10's. I've seen others progress, big time (Davis, for sure), but Gillie seems to have digressed. Hate it. Hate it. But I can't disagree.

I had to read this post about 5 times because I couldn't believe that PKM would say that and be serious about it. I want Miller for the Jazz but if MKG falls in the draft and the Jazz can get him late in the lottery (with the assumption the Miller is gone) then why not take him? I believe that MKG will find a way to stick around in the NBA and have a big contribution to winning. I might still be drinking too much of the kool-aid though.

I want Miller for the Jazz but if MKG falls in the draft and the Jazz can get him late in the lottery (with the assumption the Miller is gone) then why not take him? I believe that MKG will find a way to stick around in the NBA and have a big contribution to winning. I might still be drinking too much of the kool-aid though.

Oh, don't get me wrong, he'll have a long and successful career. I'm saying he was looking likine maybe the best prospect .. now he's looking like a 'prospect' .. he's so awesome though, that he's non-miss.

Another similar (sorta) kid that's going waaay under the radar is the Magic's Deandre Liggins .. enough of that for now.

Okay, the subject is 'it.' Here's who I think has the 'it' factor in the lottery (in order of ittitude).

Austin Rivers


Anthony Davis
MKG
Thomas Robinson

I could be convinced it's really only Rivers.

Quincy Miller has some of it, but not an overwhelming portion.

I can't feel good and say that Miller has the "it" that we are talking about. In the biggest games of the season he doesn't seem to shine through like I would hope. He has had good games, but does he shine, no.

I would still take Miller over Barnes now though.

tough call for me .. Barnes has hit his celing, imo. On the other hand, Miller is fragile .. Miller with FAR more upside, Barnes with more sustainability.

Yes, he had 29 and 20 against Missouri but they also lost both games. I wanted the first one and that is when Miller climbed ahead of every other SF in the draft, but he also wasn't a dominate force to help take over the game.

Rivers did that against UNC. That is the "it" or shine that I am talking about.

The exciting thing about Miller though is that this is only his 1st year back from ACL surgery, so it's possible he isn't at 100%.
