Following potential 2012 draftees

Speaking of Danny Manning, I would be all in on trying to get him to be our big man coach. He's done wonders at Kansas.

I have thought the same thing many times. It seems like all of the big men that come from Kansas has great footwork. That would really help Kanter and Favors improve their overall game.

There are no bigs in this draft as promising as the two guys that spend 30 minutes every game rotting on the bench except Davis and Drummond. I don't know why they (Zellerzz, Jones, whoever) keep coming up.

Solid backups for the future...at least that's what I think of Zeller.

Am I far from the truth in saying P. Jones college career is similar to Favors career at GT, in that both fell short of their potential? With that said, is it possible Jones could be a better pro then college player?

Favors was in a situation where the guards wouldn't/couldn't get him the ball. When they did get him the ball, he performed. PJIII is a guy who doesn't seem to have 100% motor and who has nights where he disappears or shoots 1 for 5 in big games with low rebounds. I don't think it's the same situation. Jones has some physical tools, but he doesn't seem to have that much game or versatility right now. He can definitely score in certain situations, and maybe he's a streaky player. But he's probably going to have to play PF like Jan Vesely is doing, and he doesn't really like going inside. Truth be told, I'd still probably take Terrence Jones over Perry. If Terrence Jones were on Baylor, I'm pretty sure he'd put up some good numbers.

My take: Favors was raw with uber upside. Shy but not lazy. Jones is less raw, not so shy, but more lazy.
Favors plays close to the basket, jones falls in love with the perimeter. Favors is shackled by lack of self-belief, jones by self-entitlement. Give me Favors ... And I'll hope that, along the way, I can teach him to get pissed.
