Following potential 2012 draftees

PKM--put any stock into what MKG is saying. We want all of these players in dangitt!

Yes. In fact, Shabazz Muhammed was/is waiting to see if MKG (and others) leave before committing to UK. Yesterday, Calipari was showing everyone involved how the team will play if MKG and Lamb returns and 'Bazz were to join the team. There's a lot of smoke about MKG returning. Cal is telling him to leave, but MKG looks at Calipari as real father figure and is leaning (quite heavily, actually) toward spending another year in college.

This. Not only are Miller and Barnes likely to be as good, or better, than TRob, but they're also a definite need.

I think taking Miller in the top 5 (this scenario) would be a mistake. I can't see this kid succeeding in any real sense in the NBA. If we take him I obviously hope I'm wrong.

Solid backups for the future...at least that's what I think of Zeller.

There are plenty of backups available in free agency generally, and as it stands, if the Jazz end up keeping Millsap into another contract (certainly what I'm hoping), there won't be a ton of minutes available for a 4th big. Anyone would be lucky to have the career that Millsap's had and the level he's been playing at for the past two years, so here's hoping he does stay.

But I guess you have to start planning for the possibility that Millsap moves on, as well...

Miller seems like he has HUGE sleeper potential to me. He's obviously still not 100% physically, and he's certainly not developed as a man 100%. When he gets his leg back, gets some real confidence, and learns and grows with the right team he could be an absolute monster.

Besides, who else are you going to take at 5? Sullinger? Gross. Robinson? Another big...? No. Harrison Barnes? Is he really a better prospect? Perry 'Paper Tiger' Jones? Michael-Kidd Brewer?

In my mind, there's a drop-off and crapshoot after Davis and Drummond almost all the way out of the lottery, IMO. The Jazz just don't need more big prospects (right now) and the PG field is really weak (the top PG might not even be a PG).

I've said it before and will say it again; if the Jazz get Miller, then the Jazz had a great draft. Whether he busts or not.

Repped. I agree with everything except maybe the Michael-Kidd Brewer part. It made me laugh but I don't necessarily believe that he will be the player that brewer is.

It's mostly a reference to his broke-*** shot, I think MKG is a more versatile - and probably better - player. But thank you.

Fyi

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist said that he plans to stay at Kentucky beyond this season.
"I'm graduating here. I'm not going nowhere," Kidd-Gilchrist said after Saturday's game against Vanderbilt. "I'm staying at Kentucky."
When those around him chuckled, Kidd-Gilchrist added: "I'm dead serious. I don't know why y'all laughing."
Kidd-Gilchrist will have to convince John Calipari that he should stay.
“He’s got to come up with some reasons he’s coming back and convince me,” Calipari said. “Here’s why: What if he got hurt and I’m out there convincing him to come back? What if that happened? Or something happened to him that all of the sudden really hurt him and his draft-ability and his future?
“It’s hard to live with yourself, unless you’re just trying to win five more games or ‘How many games can I win before I retire?’ This is about these young people.”
Calipari said that former one-and-done stars like John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins and Eric Bledsoe often say to him, “Man, I wish I could have stayed three or four years.
“But there’s opportunities that arise. Just like Bill Gates, when he said, ‘You know what? I’m done with school; I’m going to chase my dreams’ and in his case, change the world. Steve Jobs did the same thing; left school and went out and changed the world.
“You have opportunities. You’ve got to look at them and figure out what’s right.”

If we are talking potential, I agree, talking real world "most likely to pan out over Miller" I'd take Robinson, Barnes and MKG over him in the top 5. I also think Lillard and Rivers will have better careers as well.

Again, Miller has great potential but, IMO, he's the most likely to have a thread titled "Can the _________experiment end" if we draft him. Rich mans CJ Miles, IMO.
