Following potential 2012 draftees

None of us do. It's too hard to form an opinion when we can't actually watch him play.

Umm...pretty much every game Lillard has played has been viewable. Especially true if you live within 30 miles of Ogden. Could have watched the game tonight, was on Altitude, but let's not use facts to get in the way of opinion.

His passing is fine. Weber has no athleticism in the front court (he'd feel right at home with Kanter, hyuk hyuk), so it's hard for him to get assists in the pick and roll game. Teams double in the pick and roll all the time, but the bigs aren't good enough to get to the rim. We have a defensive motor big, a plodding post big, and a pick and pop big (where Lillard gets most of his assists to the bigs). None have great hands. Most of Lillard's assists come from motion offense (easy assists, really, if the wing makes the shot), and from fast breaks. Again, if you saw the game tonight (on TV on basic cable [by looking at the lineup, a repeat of the game will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday]), you saw some really tight passes on the break, both giving Wheelwright layups.

Lillard doesn't have the "take over" mentality in games most of the time. He's having trouble getting to the lane in recent games because opposing bigs give our bigs no regard on the pick and roll, and Lillard (and Weber's O) rarely does a 1-4 go one on one set. Weber actually has more success running pick and pop with Bamforth (6-1 gunner) because the two smalls have to respect Bamforth's shot (he's got range, yo), giving Lillard a one on one matchup.

I've seen Lillard play about 20 times this year. What's your excuse?

He wasn't regarded as a potential lottery pick till fairly recently, as far as I know, so I didn't even know I needed to check him out. But yeah, obviously I was misinformed about the view-ability of his games. No need to act like a dick about it.

Lillard has moved into the lottery because nba scouts and gms are saying he is a lottery pick. Now that has a lot to do with the lack of pgs in the draft too. Now KOC was at the game last night watching lillard so if the jazz draft him the will know what they are getting.

Funny though that Marshall can't break the top 20.

Marshall is top 20 on draftexpress. Will be drafted higher than 20, almost positive.

I am not sure how everyone here feels about Chris Sheridan but he feels fresh and useful compared to the crap that I get from ESPN. Here is a great article about last years trade deadline:

https://www.sheridanhoops.com/2012/03/07/bernucca-winners-and-losers-of-recent-trade-deadlines/

Here is one great tidbit from the article:

WINNER: Utah. The best-known piece acquired for Deron Williams was the worst one – Devin Harris, who has shown to be an ordinary point guard. The other pieces are future frontcourt Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter (who both need to play more) and Golden State’s top-seven protected pick this summer. Right now, it is the 10th pick. Austin Rivers, anyone?

If these things are so blatantly obvious to everyone that is vocal, then you would expect that the Jazz FO feels the same.

Lillard will be on ESPN2/ESPN3 tonight at 8 pm central, which should be around the time the Utah game gets wrapped up. I will be watching.

They are playing the team with the best record in their conference and their best player is also a PG. Should be a good game.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll probably have time to watch it too.

Is it a bad that I live in SLC Ut. and have never seen Lillard play?

Thanks for letting us know about the game I will watch. I'm sure everyone is looking forward to my analysis on his game;)

That would be Will Cherry....very athletic player who won the DPOY for that conference. He'll be a tough matchup for Lillard. Should be fun to watch.
