Following potential 2012 draftees

The thing about Perry Jones is that he could be a very effective player even if he never gets out of 2nd or 3rd gear. He'll always be able to shoot a jumper or runner due to his length, and he'll always be able to bother shooters somewhat (again, with his length). He doesn't get pushed around like Anthony Randolph. As long as he makes some effort on defense, I don't think he's really going to bust. The question is whether he's quick and disciplined enough to play out on the floor, or if he's really just a finesse big.

I'm leaning more and more towards drafting Marshall at #8. It would have felt like reaching before, but now that PKM has said he's risen that much on some big boards, I don't think we would have to feel that way. I think Marshall is our guy.

Please no to Marshall at 8.

Yeah, his ceiling is high and at 8 or 9 I don't think his floor is all that different from the others around there. That's why I can't imagine passing on him if he's there. I'm just not sure about Marshall. I wonder if he's looking better merely because by comparison to the other PGs this year he's getting inflated value. That's why I was intrigued as to why PKM changed his mind on him and now thinks he's worth drafting at maybe 8. Is he special?

I still think it's really hard to pass on PJ3. Especially now that I'm hearing he's more a 2 or 3 than how they used him at Baylor. No motor but so much effortless talent.

What if we don't get any picks?

Then all 400 pages of this thing will be all for not when its all said and done.

What a waste this might be.

I am very hesitant to like Marshall at 8. 12-15 for sure, but not 8.

He'll be the first or second pg taken in the draft. It's risky to assume he'd be there at 13 or 14. Kemba and Jimmer went 9 & 10 last year. I think the Jazz could get Lillard/Marshall at 8 and then T. Jones/Q.Miller/A. Rivers at 13/14.

I think that's what the Jazz would probably do unless they fall in love with a player like Harrison Barnes or Perry Jones who happens to slip to #8.

I love Royce White and have since he was a Sr in HS .. but I think he'll have no more than brilliant flashes in the NBA. Draymond Green in the 2nd, sure .. but there are several I'd rather have. Buford .. NO thank you.

Did you watch what happened to UNC when he went down?
