Are you all even sure lillard or Marshall are better than Harris. It's a tuff call for KOC. Dies he want to take a couple years to get him going and essentially take a step back? I don't think so. I think KOC wants to move forward with what we got.

Dont be surprised if he trades the GS pick away.

I personally love Harrison Barnes, his game reminds me a lot of Paul Pierce's in that he has a great mid-range game and although he appears sluggish driving through the lane he is a fairly reliable slasher. I think a lot of teams are going to pass on him like they did with Pierce too.
 
Barnes getting drafted to Utah would probably be his best fit for his career, especially if we managed to get Marshall also.

Yeah, that thing did kind of irk me, but maybe he has seen the light and realized he isn't that kind of player or person. I think he got caught up in the hype machine and was hurt because of it. I can't blame that on him as much as on the media making him belief he was something he isn't.

Agreed. I hope he he can get all that hype out of his head and just play basketball.

As far as the Barnes vs Marshall debate goes, I feel like I WANT to like the idea of drafting Barnes, but deep down I think it would be easier to acquire a SF shooter like Barnes than it would be to acquire a PG with Marshall's passing and leadership. Marshall just seems like a rarer gem to me.
 
'Branding' is something these kids are taught in their prep days via the AAU circuit. The shoe companies pound it in their heads as well as the coaches (long story there). By the time they hit a college campus, they believe they're supposed to be thinking and talking about their brand. College coaches try hard to get this idea out of their heads. It's almost always a freshman that brings it up because they haven't been de-programmed yet.

Anthony Davis (on Jimmy Kimmel) said he wanted his brow to become his brand. It made me cringe, but I also know it's more innocence on their part than arrogance. I believe the same is true of Barnes' words.
 
Is it just me or does MKG reminds me a lot of Michael Finley? Athletic wing who can finish at the rim, not really known for outside shooting...

Yeah, I saw Davis on Kimmel and I didn't really like him that much. Seemed like he was forcing trying to be funny. All his other interviews he seemed like a cool dude, probably just nerves.

You would think that by now players would realize that branding and market size do not go hand in hand, but branding and winning do. Look at DWill. He's in the first or second largest market in the US and to be honest, I hear the national talking heads bring him up a ton less than they did when he was here. He basically played himself out of a spot on the Olympic team, and he's now an afterthought. Then look at Durant. He's probably in the smallest market in the league, but I'd say he probably has the best "brand" out there. If I were a top pick I'd be much more concerned about going to a winning environment than I would about market size.

The guy who shoots 37% (with several 40% + years) from deep on his career isn't known for outside shooting? I see Ronnie Brewer 2.0 with a more physical game suited to being a SF.

Shawn Marion's peak of his career is MKG's ceiling IMO if he can never fix his shot.

At the same time, Blake Griffin probably has more endorsement money than Durant, but he isn't nearly as good. Westbrook and Harden would probably be getting a lot more endorsement money in different towns too.
