Following potential 2012 draftees

I think we all agree Barnes has the ego to be a scorer. Maybe he has the "it" factor - although many have debated this - especially after seeing how crappy he was without Marshall. That's why if Barnes isn't the STUD he thinks he is, doesn't play defense, and only does well when he has Marshall setting him up then maybe he's not worth our lottery pick.

It's a matter of Barnes + whoever the jazz get in the second round
or
Marshall or someone else in the lottery + Miller (Jazz would have to acquire a late first - maybe use their second rounder)

Barnes probably won't even be there at 8 anyway.

Good post.

I am still on the Perry Jones bandwagon, let him take over the three in 2 years as a 2nd option. I understand he had a lot of games where he did nothing but I think that was an indictment on Baylor and their head coach just as much as it was on PJ3. We would be long and athletic for once. Or he could be a complete bust and never even sniff the court. But a man can dream cant he?

I don't see PJ3 as having bust potential. I have cautioned, though, that his skill set is a tweener rather than a true SF. I think he's a better stretch 4 than a SF, in other words. The other concern has been his commitment to the game, taking too many plays off, less than ideal work ethic, etc.

My prediction is he'll be very, very good.

But he still never said that he liked him. He just voiced his opinion on why it doesn't matter that Miller has better shooting stats than Barnes.

Yeah, I think I remembered it wrong. He was always down on MKG, not Barnes. I've been in and out.

Good enough to take him over Marshall?

Definitely .. player to player. However, I'd take Marshall based on needs. I'd put them as very similar in the BPA rankings .. and would probably take Marshall to break the tie, based on need. I love PJ3's upside, I hate his below average commitment to the game. If there was anyway to know that he was going to commit himself to be the best he could be .. he would probably go #2. (and would then be lighter)

I'm still somewhat surprised how taken you've become with Marshall. I still don't know, but I've graduated to at least fearing passing on him and him turning into something great.

I have been impressed with PJ3 this year though. And I wasn't last year, so your new opinion on Marshall shouldn't seem so strange.

I'm with you bro. I'M WITH YOU.

His stats were identical to his freshman year. What was it that you liked more about him this year?
