Following potential 2012 draftees

Calm down, Chickenlittles. Stern loves drama. If the Warriors were slotted 8th it would suck for us because it'd be a set up for them to jump into the lottery. Classic positive/negative storytelling. For now the W's got a positive plot point while the Jazz got a negative one. Come lottery the W's get their negative plot point, and the Jazz get their positive one. It's basic storytelling structure. Stern doesn't even bother making things believable - he just loves the drama.

Someone will leapfrog the W's. Jazz will pick 8th. or 9th (I'm not sure of all the potential storylines of teams 8-14).

Heard a little tidbit re: the Jazz (waaaaay to preliminary to get into it .. but I'm trying to piece together some details from a sketchy conversation. I'll name 3 teams and would appreciate any opinions as to who (if any) has been the 'best'/most likely trade partner. I think I've narrowed things down to;

- Houston
- Suns
- Philly
.. with an outside chance of Mavs, but the pieces don't fit as well.

What I do know;

- Jazz are asking questions of players 'just barely outside the lottery' (they inquired about Tjones .. but he was far from the only one, as I was told).

What I think I know;

- Jazz must feel they have a potential trade partner with those teams I mentioned above.

What I do not know;

- everything else

Q Miller and T Jones are both projected just outside 14th... I'd definitely swap Burks & next year's GSW for one of them. Gives us a lock at SF and brings Hayward back to SG.

I wouldn't do that. I'll try to get more details, but I don't think my inner circle can get any Jazz-specific stuff that they're intending to keep close to the vest.
