Following potential 2012 draftees

I only saw the Iona pre-tourney game against BYU, where BYU came back huge in the second half. Scott Machado is really quick and a sharp ball distributor. He looked a bit like a Ty Lawson type, but he doesn't have that level of offense. I think he may be more of a back-up, change-of-pace type.

Getting a full time backup PG at 47 is actually pretty good for the second round. I'd be pretty happy with that.
Here's Scott's combine results:

Hieght w/ shoes: 6' 1.75"
Wieght: 205
Wingspan: 6' 3"
Standing reach: 7' 10"
No step vert: 28.5''
No step vert reach: 10' 2.5"
Bench: 17
Agility: 12
Sprint:3.23

Two things that are pretty good:
His bench is 17. That puts him in the top 15 of the draft class.
Combine that with his sprint: 3.23 and that's very good. So he's strong and fast which is what you want in a PG.
Can't jump very well though and his agility tested kinda poor.

Sign Nash to a three year deal at 12, 10, 8, and get Machado in this draft who can be mentored for the next few years and our off-season has been a huge success given the fact that we have no first round picks.

IMO Machado is going to be huge bust. I doubt he can guard anyone in the league. I doubt he can get into the paint against anyone in the league. I doubt he will be able to score the ball. So that is basically 3/4 of a point guards responsibility.

For example if BYU can press you for a whole half, you are not an NBA level PG. (And I am BYU fan.)

How can some one be a bust that is drafted in the second round?

If the Jazz decide the price is too high to get into the first round and only take a second rounder, I hope they at least trade up in the 2nd Round to grab Doron Lamb. I'd actually feel OK about the whole draft with that outcome at least.
