Following potential 2014 draftees

Yeah a true 7 footer like Embiid might do the job. But what this POR team has taught me is you'd really only need a semi-decent Center to be effective - he doesn't really need to be an All Star or anything like that.

- Who played Center in the Heat teams that won the Chips?

- Mavs? They had Chandler.

The first one? Shaq. He was pretty decent.

It's hard to follow the Heat model, because they had/have one of the greatest players of all time in LeBron James….he allows you to do unconventional things. Plus, they basically played Bosh at center, and I would consider him to be more than semi-decent.

Tyson Chandler with the Mavs was far more than semi-decent. Great defensive player, and that's what you want/need out of a center. Be a defensive force who can stop the other team. That's how you win in the playoffs.

Favors & Vonleh front-court is more raw than a 30-piece catch of the day sashimi platter.

Favors kanter = raw
Favors embiid = raw
Favors randle = raw
Favors gordon = raw

We still have Kanter for one year, plus Gobert will be ready at least defensively to play bigger minutes in two years. Vonleh would have plenty of time to improve before he needs to step in and play big minutes.

I'm not a big fan of letting talent rot on a bench. You can do that the first year, play him in a lesser role rotation minutes and play with them depending how he works in practice and performs. Let him discover that the other 299 NBA rotation players are also very talented.

2nd year you push it. Give him an offseason task to work on with his development coaches, give him a bigger role, responsibility and see how he improves.

Well isn't that what I basically said above??

The last piece to the 2014 NBA Draft puzzle is in place. Croatian Mario Hezonja of Barcelona will NOT enter the draft, we've been informed.

Surprising development: Latvian 7-footer Kristaps Porzingis (1995) has entered his name in the 2014 draft. 1st round prospect for sure.
