Following potential 2014 draftees

Doesn't really matter. It's the coach's job to coach and the GM's job to put the team together. Granted, some coaches have had more of a say personnel-wise (like Sloan, Pops, Jackson, etc.). But the Jazz can use help EVERYWHERE! Give me any name and I can tell you how to get 20-25 mins for him (or more if needed).

From what Lindsey said, we're only using one pick. He said the scouts are really going to have to justify any player taken with the 23rd or 35th pick. Trade or draft & stash, IMO.

I dont know...seems like Lindsey is saying a bunch of stuff but probably more to it. It does not make sense to go out and say you are not going to use your picks publicly. Something is brewing.

35th I advocate a draft and stash. Greek Freak 2.0, anyone?

For #23, I hope it's part of a package to move up to 3/4 or flipped for a future 1st with little or no protection (top-6 at most). I also wouldn't mind a Clint Capela draft and stash. You can't have too much length/athleticism.

what do you guys think about this ?? https://www.basketballinsiders.com/nba-am-expanded-2014-nba-mock-draft/ ...
Would orlando take parker only to raid the jazz of assets??

I think most people are thinking with their hearts instead of their minds. Yes it is a small possibility that Parker falls in the draft same with Wiggins .. Embiid.. Exum, but the chances are small close to a miracle. I find it funny how many people are saying the Jazz want Parker because he is Mormon and how many fans do to but then when you point out this fact they turn around and deny. I haven't heard any Jazz front office person say they want any player let alone Parker but this fact doesn't seem to matter nor stop people from designing ways to get him.

I rather use our two picks #23 and #35 to move up and get a shooter even if we have to throw in another 2nd (jazz have like four).

Thanasis' isn't a draft and stash guy, he will be in the D-League if hes not on his teams roster.

im all for a draft and stash though. ****, if it was up to me id buy another pick and stash 2.

Porzingis at 21 and Walter Tavares or Damien Inglis at 35 are the ones i really like. also im cool with Capela or Bogan Bogdanovic at 21, but id much rather have them at 35 where they are steals. Micic could also be in play around 35

of the "buy a pick" to stash a player variety, IE, Raulzinho Neto; Nikola Jokic, Artem Klimenko, Rasmus Larsen and Moussa Diagne have a chance, and i think are worth developing overseas, Diagne has a chance to be a major pain in the *** blocking shots and grabbing rebounds, the other 3 are floor stretchers

if Bogdanovic is the pick, i highly doubt we see him in a Jazz uniform next season, IIRC his buyout is 1.2mil. However Bogdan is already a legitimate star in Europe, and watching his next season from afar could be alot of fun, I could easily see him generating the type of buzz where next offseason like Mirotic this year, people are mentioning "well if he was in this draft, hed go.."

OK -- combining the idea from this thread along with the stuff from the other thread about the possibility of Tomic being brought over:

In the unlikely event that both:
a) Wiggins and Embiid are gone by Philly's #3 pick
b) Philly isn't sold that a star will come out of any pick below #2 (or thinks that there's no big difference between their 3-5 preferences)

Would you send Kanter, the worse of our two 2017 first-rounders (or this year's #23 if Sixers preferred), and #5 to Philly for #3?

As I say, I think it's very unlikely that the Sixers are interested, but Noel (with potentially out-of-this world defense save for his lack of girth, decent passing, and very little need for low-post touches) seems to be as good a potential complement for Kanter as anybody.

Kanter, Vonleh (or Gordon) and the #23 for Parker.

Nope. I'm just not sold on Jabari Pyrite. He's fools gold. He'll come in and score a bunch; likely win ROY. But in the end, Vonleh and Gordon will be more valuable because they'll be able to play both ends of the court.

Right now, I'd give up #5, Kanter, Burke, and GSW '17 for Embiid. When they say No, then I'd keep throwing stuff on the pile.
Willing to pay >>> than what was given up for two legit superstars in Carmelo and Deron for a player who MIGHT develop?
