Following potential 2014 draftees

Generally speaking Bill Self is thought of as a good coach.. like in terms of winning a lot of games, but he chokes in big games.
This is a fact, though.. the NBA (scouts specifically) has this little joke about Kansas being the place kids go to have their stock drop.
Not sure why it is.. but its true. And the kids don't seem to progress, even after multiple years.

I think the myth that college coaches ruin players nba prospects is bs the college and pro games are vastly different games how a player does in the nba has little to do with his college coach..its how his skillset/size translate to the pro game..

Plus aside from a Henry and Selby who werent good nba prospects to begin with Self doesnt get all the top 10 guys like Calipari he gets alot of guys ranked from the 20's to 40's who arent huge nba prospects..

What guys did he ruin? Should Aldrich have turned into Hakeem under another coach? lol..

Now that hes getting more top players hell send more players to the nba who will be good pros because their skillset translates to the pros..

Well I am sure the hype has something to do with my reaction to this performance. I was not overly impressed and the whole he has Lebron athleticism seems to be a reach based upon these highlight (jumping high is only one part of being athletic). Now don't shoot me but he reminded me of Quincy Lewis on defense with hops. He has a stand up defensive position and relies on his jumping ability to make up for what I perceived to be a lack of lateral movement. Guys in the NBA are going to blow by him if he doesn't improve his defensive positioning. His break away speed didn't seem anything special. He looked really skinny to me. I am sure the kid was nervous but I don't see a player who is just going to come into the league and dominate the way Lebron did.

I am not saying he isn't the number one guy. I just think he isn't an already made Superstar. Hopefully, he has the drive to become one. I just don't think Wiggins has locked up the number 1 spot yet (based upon what I've seen. Yes I know it is one game).

He isn't as good as LeBron was at this stage, but his ceiling is as good as advertised.

Not sure who you're talking to PJKino... as I said that is the general feeling regarding Self around the scouting circles.. it wasn't simply my opinion.

There have been articles written on it as well. I'm not arguing a point though.. just sharing what scouts think.

Yeah that was sort of my take which is why I raised the point in the first place. I'm just a bit concerned as I haven't heard of any All Stars that have come out of his system - yet.

I would have at least may be picked a coach who's had a good track record of developing stars such as Coach Crean with DWade.

I assume you're trolling.

Coach K has been the best I'd say.
Calipari gets a lot of credit, but it's also obvious he gets the best talent, by far.. so not really fair.

Roy Williams has been one of the very worst... but the worst BY FAR has been Rick Barnes (and save me the Durant argument).
