Following potential 2014 draftees

I'm pleasantly surprised to see Vonleh getting some love. it should be noted hes a really high character kid with tireless work ethic, currently taking 9 credits when he only needs 6. hes obsessed with hoops and was on campus 4 days after he graduated HS. theres a story of his family taking a vacation to disney world for a week and instead of going to the parks he had his mom drop him off at the YMCA to play ball for 10 hours each day.

IU plays Michigan St. saturday 2pm est on CBS, that should be a good test

Yes, because the Sparties have a long and experienced front court.

I was only able to watch a few minutes. What stood out about him to you?

His athleticism is nuts. Should be a great shot blocker and rebounder with his length. He's stronger than I thought he was and should continue to get stronger.

Offensively he can't do much of anything, but if he gets any semblance of a mid-range jumper and even the slightest ball-handling ability he looks like one of those guys that is impossible to defend on the elbow. Could live at the line. Could really beast in transition.

He's really raw tho, so it would be a bit of a project

I don't know how much of a sense of whether these players will declare or not, but if you do, which players are most likely to stay in college next year, and which will leave?

Do you think the Harrison's will play another year at Kentucky, how about WCS? I think a lot of these players in the 15-25 range might opt to play another year, as well as 2-3 in the top 15. Just look at how many stayed another last year knowing that this year was going to have a much deeper draft (WCS, McGary, Austin, Smart, I'm sure there are others that were possible lottery picks that opted to stay).

Way too early to tell. We're not even to conference play yet.. well, barely.. and so much gets decided in the final 10 games or so of the year.
If the Harrison's get the feel they're 15 or below I think they'll stay. I think WCS is gone... but it's just too early to know.

Huh. He doesn't look that explosive to me. He seems to have a decent handle based on his high school highlights... not a bad jumper either. Not what I was expecting to hear.

Huh? If you trust PKM, then you trust the scouts since a great deal of what he says isn't necessarily his opinion, it's the opinion of the scouts he talks to.

Basically what I'm saying is I'm a skeptic about Exum, and don't put much stock in the scouts when it comes to these unknown players, but to me PKM is credible, so I'm keeping an eye on Exum.

Not necessarily his jumping, but his mobility and quickness look really good. Plus his length will create problems

If you have seen Jabari Parker play on Duke then you have seen Rodney Hood play. Just tryin to help a brother out, that's all no disrespect.

I only saw the game against Kansas @ the beginning of the year, and I didn't know who Hood was or pay attention to him at all. I watched Parker, Wiggins, and Embiid. Kinda had that tunnel-vision going on

The reason he's credible is because of the scouts he talks to lol

In fairness to me, I was 'promoting' him before he was ever on any mock draft or being mentioned anywhere at all. How/why? Because I had several scouts gush about him that had seen him play and scouted him in person. Whereas I don't have much to go on personally, I am riding the coattails of scouts employed to know this stuff by NBA teams. Might they be wrong? Of course they could.. but it's not completely 'blind.'
