The way I look at it: If he's unable to get a consistent 3 pointer and it turns out he can't guard PGs(worst case), he'll be a lot like Dwyane Wade, Tyreke Evans and Rodney Stuckey. Not a bad company. And he has a lot of potential. So I think being patient is key. Predicting the evolution of a player's jump shot is IMO very hard. You can see the mechanics and what kind of shot he practices(e.g. set shot, high release?, how much lift?) but the muscle memory and functionality of his hand-eye coordination is impossible to predict from the sidelines.

Last year i loved marcus smart.
This year i hate him lol..... and he has actually improved.

Smart will uptick his draft stock against KU (I mean with casual fans not scouts).
KU won't be able to contain him.
Embiid will likely have a good game as well.
 
Yea I am excited to see the KU vs Oklahoma state game. It will be interesting to see if Wiggins guards Smart at any point in the game. I am not a big fan of Smart. I would be disappointed if the Jazz ended up with him instead of Wiggins/Parker/Embiid/Randle but I think he will be a solid player in the NBA and has the potential to be very good (all-star level) if he gets a consistent jump shot. I 've read that Orlando is in love with him but that might have changed. I hope he plays well enough to move up in the draft to push down one of the guys I want.
 
Smart will live at the free throw line vs. KU, just like Kane did for ISU. They are fairly similar players. Embiid will destroy OSU.

FYI, I think the Jazz would use Parker as a smokescreen. If they get #1, I think they'll take Embiid or Wiggins. If not, then I think it's because they think Parker would be willing to re-sign with the Jazz longer term.

Im a Smart fan because of his toughness unselfishness and leadership but not how his game will translate to the pros..Hes a 2 who cant shoot and isnt overly fast or explosive..people saw that espn game against Memphis and thought wow this guy is great and improved his shot but he really didnt..

This is a dumb argument. I don't care who the Jazz take this year: Smart, Exum, Wiggins, Parker, whoever. If in 7 years, the Jazz are contending, that player will resign with Utah. If not, he will leave. If LeBron could leave Cleveland and survive, anyone of those guys, Parker included, can leave and do just fine.
 
It's like saying you trade for Jimmer to get fans to come out. Jimmer or no Jimmer, if you win, fans will come. If you lose, they won't.
