What's new

Following potential 2014 draftees

I was referring to the hype of being the top 3 pick last year (if he had declared). There's less hype this year simply because he hadn't lived up to anyone's expectation (46% FT, LOL), 30% college 3's.

You do of course realize that he's shooting ~ 74% from the FT line…right? Not outstanding, but certainly not 46%.

In the end, if you're basing his hype off of how he was projected last year, then that's your fault for being an idiot. Taking previous hype instead of the current lowered projections is the epitome of idiocy.

In short, you're a moron.

tim hardaway jr. 2nd year 3fg% - .283%

i'm not worried too much about smart's shooting ability. i worry more about his size and his ok athleticism.

His size? He's 6'4 with a 6'8 wingspan and 220 pounds…what's to worry about? His athleticism is more than enough…it's not outstanding, but easily above average.

Also, this isn't related to your post, but Marcus Smart is shooting over 50% from 2. His problem comes that he shoots too many 3's, which is an easy problem to fix.

who's 6ft 4? marcus smart? i doubt he is that tall. 6ft 3 max

You do realize that he's been measure before…right?

any measurements other than nba predraft is highly unreliable. i have no idea how tall he is. i'm just assuming he is 6ft 3 ish because he looks short. but if he comes in at solid 6ft 3 barefoot than i'm fine with it as llong as he puts up good predraft numbers

If he struggles to get through a college season, doesn't bode well for the NBA, tbh.

You know that stress fractures are usually the result of putting too much stress on a part of your body like the name indicates?
So the 10 games with 20 min per game due to foul trouble probably are not the reason.
Maybe it's the practice and him expanding his game and not developing in the weight room at the same speed?
Maybe it's also bad luck that he developed this injury from another one which was bad luck?

You simply gotta be patient about Embiid.
The NBA draft guys will get their hands on his MRIs in some way.

Adrien Payne is looking very good. Love his range. We would have to consider him with that GS pick if it falls to far.

When I first noticed him in a DX vid I was a little bit intrigued and worried about how they displayed him. Then I watched him play this year and totally became a fan of his game. Eliminated weaknesses, developed strengths further. Not many guys who have the strength to battle inside care enough to develop a jump shot at a young age. Would totally draft him.

Rodney Hood in the top 10-15 is a horrific pick.

He's a solid shooter, but he doesn't excel at creating his own shot or creating for other, he'll be an average at best rebounder in the NBA, decent handles, and terrible defense.

If we took him at 6 or 7, I would consider DL to be clinically retarded.

Givony's estimate is that he's a lock between 10 and 20 no matter what he does in the NCAA tourney and it will depend on finding a fit for him.
