Second option:
Maybe the best way to strengthen our hand in next year's draft is to strengthen our hand in this draft. Hear me out...
Let's take an aggressive approach as an example:
1. Pick up 2 more draft picks this year, somewhere between 12 and 18.
2. Select McCollum, Austin, Giannis, and Schroeder.
3. Leave the euros in Europe for a year.
4. Play the C4 + McCollum and Austin serious minutes next year.
5. Use some combo of a member of the C4, McCollum, Austin, or the Euros to get a high 2014 pick.
6. Bring everybody together the season after next.
7. Loaded
I like where your head is at. Give me some teams that might be willing to shed their pick this year and what do we have to give up?
hearing,
FSU, UNC, Kentucky, KU for wiggins (in that order)
Tell you more as it comes to me.
Also, Brooklyn doesn't give a crap about picks so I can see a couple of options with them.
First, set up an agreement to take their pick off their hands after they draft who we want and we can pay them some cash on top of of taking the extra player off their roster
Or
Second (and the one I like more), do a sign and trade with them after the draft that nets (get it?) us the newly drafted player and their pick next season for Millsap. We all know that DWill would rather have Millsap then Evans or Humphries. Millsap would thrive again if that was to happen.
Thoughts?
Is that all? I thought there were more?
Those are the only serious ones he is considering at the moment.
top 3 are VERY close.
KU basically not in the running (wiggins camp doesnt love Coach Self)
Again, this is just what I'm hearing...
FSU- Family Legacy, chance to be the best ever at FSU (obviously) trendsetter.
UNC- Chance to play for the school who is undoubtably the face of college basetball over the last 25 years.
UK- Calipari made a damn good pitch I'm told. Isn't in love with Kentucky per se, but Calipari is straight fire.
KU- Falling out of the running, Self and Wiggins dont mesh 100%
