Following potential 2014 draftees

.. besides, I called them so-so shooters. Would you consider any of them elite shooters?

Fwiw, I've been saying since pre-draft (Kanter's) that Enes has NBA3 range.

Absolutely not, but I think they all have a high ceiling as far as shooting goes. Maybe they don't reach it, but I'm not going to give up on them at this point.
Let's face we all have dreams this core 4-5 hopefully six next year becomes a real player in the West. To do so we'll need Hayward, Kanter, and Burke to really be consistent jump shooters
in their own way. If Hayward can't become a deadly shooter I think we need to go in another direction.

Think about this too. Gordon probably comes off the bench for us his first year for us anyways. He'd be our 6th man energy guy ala Sap his first year with us.

We saw it with Ronnie Brewer. If you're an abysmal shooter, you're an offensive liability.

We still need shooters, across the floor. I don't mean a specialist, I mean fielding a lineup where 3-4 guys are 3pt threats at any given time. That's what really spaces the floor and makes things difficult.

Brewer and Ak really didn't mesh together. That's two players that can't shoot well, and are more energy defensive guys.
We either needed AK and a pure shooting 2, or Brewer, and a 3 that could shoot.

I dunno.. I think it's premature to relegate Hayward to the bench if he can't shoot it. If we can get Jabari, this would be our lineup:

Burke (shooter)
Hayward
Jabari (shooter)
Favors
Kanter (shooter)

I think there's enough shooting there to warrant Hayward being on the floor as a facilitator/long defender at the 2 guard. I also foresee him drawing a ton of fouls and getting to the line often. With Burke at the PG, we definitely need some length at the 2.

jazz draft Gordon and James young problem solved

What I found interesting about last year's stats is James Young not only outscored every other elite player in the nation last year.. but also outrebounded BOTH twins combined at 14.8. That could mean a lot of things, but it means he has the ability and consistently brought it.

Seriously. He lead the team in 3PT%. He's no Curry or Thompson, but he's certainly a guy that spreads the floor and keeps the defense honest.

I read today he has a better true shooting percentage than Thompson. looking at their shot charts i would probably take hayward tbh.

Just meant I don't think Hayward is the sharp shooter that Thompson is. Not comparing their overall games.

Doug McDermott. Been getting a lot of praise at the Team USA practices. Would he be a good choice with the GS pick if the Jazz go guard with their first selection?

I was thinking with our second round which should be early. would make a great stretch 4

Hayward shot >40% from 3 this last year. In fact, he's pretty much right at 40% from 3 for his career so far.

He's a good shooter guys, it's really not that difficult to figure out.
