Following potential 2014 draftees

Rules are rules, bro, dumb or not is irrelevant. Once you signed on the dotted line, you've accepted the terms.

The reason the NCAA is a complete joke is the selective enforcement. It's disgusting and they're completely corrupt. (and that's coming from a fan of a team that has zero violations in 25 years)

Word. But was it really his basketball ability that caused him to hit that half-court shot?

Pretty sure it contributed to it. I mean it was a basketball not a football. It was a basketball court not a soccer filed. And it was a basketball hoop not a hoola hoop.

I'd argue it was luck. Would his chances of hitting a half-court be much substantially higher than mine? Maybe, but maybe not

These guys practice the half-court shots ALL THE TIME. In fact it's the main reason they turn up to practices in the first place.

Just ask PKM and DeMarcus Cousins.

WTF is a one sided agreement?

Well there were employment issues in basketball teams in the last couple of years. Papers said sth like this: If the team wants out of the agreement it has to pay €1k. If the player wants out of it he has to pay €20k. Such a contract is void by newer rules. And the same issues occured with education contracts. That's the reason many internprograms in companies had to restructure scholarships.
The way I read the NAIA agreement is that the player/student getts a $4k deduction on their fee and in exchange is not allowed to earn any money with his athletic skills which aren't even a real profession. He's also not allowed to throw a ball in lottery type/casino environments. At the same time the team is allowed to make money with the students name, sell jerseys etc.
