Following potential 2014 draftees

Really only saw one defensive play that was really impressive in that video (the first possesion) 2 times wiggins traveled which had little to do with smarts D (both of those plays it looked like smart was beat if the travel wasn't called). Another play wiggins got to the free throw line. Another play wiggins spun around smart and got into the lane and missed a shot. Another play wiggins blew by smart and smart made a nice play to poke the ball away from behind, which was a nice play, but he was still beat on that play. Another play wiggins got alot of space and hit a jumper.

That first possesion was really good defense by smart but the rest of the video seemed to be mostly highlighting wiggins just struggling more than it highlights smarts amazing defense

You every play basketball bro? Players get beat on purpose against guys w/ weak handles to do that. It's an easy way to get steals if you have quick hands and your man has weak handles (Like Wiggins has).

I'm not sure who he compares to he is that unique, but he is nothing at all like tyreke Evans IMO, certainly not worse. Shoot if tyreke had the intangibles that smart has he'd be an all star.

Nope it is not. That's selling the call. If I'm mistaken you even can get T'd up for selling calls to hard. But it's a smart thing to do.
Flopping would be tricking a ref into whistling contact that never actually happened.
There's like tricks to sell calls. Like when someone lowers his shoulder into you, you simply move also into the player so the contact is harder and the fall looks more natural. That's smart play and I root for players who play hard, take the beating and make sure as many fouls that occur against them are actually called.

It's a smart thing to do, but the fact is that you can build a bad reputation and you risk becoming "the boy who cried wolf". He will already have a rep as a flopper but won't have the superstar status in the NBA (like he does in College) right away.

Ya i could see that i guess..... and ya i played ALOT of basketball and was very good at it.
I always tried to stay in front of my man and sometimes i got beat and reaches around and poked the ball away like smart did.
Never intentionally gave my man an open lane to the hoop though. Too risky, if i didnt poke the ball away it would resulr in an easy layup. I prefer to stay in front of my man if possible

Scoop Jackson article on ESPN on how Doug McDermott is the real #1 pick in this draft.

Thoughts?

This article lost me when it mentioned Hayward as a good shooter. Grouping Hayward and McDermott in any sort of comparison is stupid. McDermott is probably going to be some type of versatile, Boris Diaw rotation player who can also stretch the floor. Most likely he comes off the bench.
