Following potential 2014 draftees

Priceless.

"I just felt like Kentucky wasn't a fit for me, with the whole attitude and approach of one and dones." -- Jabari Parker, April 16, 2013.

He's not referring to Kentucky having one and dones, he's referring to how they're treated there verse other places.

Re: Smart, I have no idea if he'll be a good NBA player, but then, I don't feel confident about anybody in this draft other than a healthy Embiid.

But with Smart at least I know I'm going to be entertained. He's a playmaker (good and bad), as mentioned above, he's disruptive, always visible - always doing something on both ends, strong, athletic, unstable.

Just from a pure basketball standpoint, I think there are very few guards (PGs or SGs) in the NBA who can handle him in the post. He's a power guard we've rarely seen in basketball, but I think he's good enough defensively to handle most smaller guards.

Don't mean to bag on Randle too much, but he's definitely not the prospect people thought he was in high school.

All the things that seemed to stand out in his highlights didn't translate or didn't exist in the first place.
I can't think that Calipari wouldn't use him as a corner 3 guy in some sets to open up the lane for PnR with Harrison + WCS.
Also we didn't know he basically could lose 1 arm in an accident and be just as efficient as otherwise.
We'll have to see if he was held back for some reason or if he can or can't develop the parts that would make his game devastating.
And I'm not talking defense...I doN't think he can be good in that department tbh.

I'll be very happy with a top 4 pick regardless who we get with GSW.
I'll be disappointed with 5 or lower, regardless who we get with GSW.

I like Vonleh's upside over Kanter's upside. Plus there's a chance that somebody in the top4 may opt to pass on Exum or Embiid somehow.

Everyone either has him at #4 or they absolutely hate him.

quite honestly, 95% of the people talking about Exum truly have no idea as to what sort of player he is/could be.

This is where competent front-office scouting comes into account. If we take Exum 4th, then I'll be excited (as I trust Dennis). Similarly, if he doesn't get picked till like 8 then I won't be shocked either, as he does have bust potential.

My big board would probably be (in terms of BPA):

1) Wiggins
2) Embiid
3) Parker
4) Vonleh/Gordon/Smart (haven't decided between the three of them yet).

I truly dgaf about the rest of the draftees-- too bad we couldn't snag 14th pick with the GS pick. Imagine if we could've snagged Stauskas. He's gonna be great for Phoenix if he falls to them.

That's how I feel.
