Following potential 2014 draftees

My board FWIW (which is not much)

1) Wiggins
2) Parker
3) Embid
4) Smart
5) Exum
6) Gordon
7) Randle
8) Vonlah

Though I'm starting to be more excited about Vonlah than I was a month ago. I guess that's how it goes with the draft for me, whoever they pick I want things to feel positive about. The only thing that bums me out about Vonlah is that he seems like a project at a position the Jazz are stacked at. Still, people who's opinion I respect seem to like him, which means a lot to a fairly uneducated person like myself.

Smart is up there because I value competitive fire in players. Perhaps I value it too much, and I agree that without skills it doesn't mean much, but over the years it feels to me that the equation of a great NBA player is fire + skills, and it feels to me the Jazz really lack a player that has it. Burke is the closest thing to one the Jazz have now that I see.

I agree with this, and i think the big difference with those two is that smart actually has some of the physical tools to impose that fire on the opposition.

Inglis at 35 (that's our pick, right?) is what I'm hoping for as well. To put it simply, he just moves really well and looks like a basketball player at 18. Combine that with his physical tools and that's exactly what i want in a second round pick.

who has the highest chance at becoming a #1 offensive option of a team with the 5th pick?

Smart is one of the few players who can create his own shot, create for others, AND defend at a high level.

#Marc #Is #Smart

That's a hard question to answer since none of the options seem to have a very good chance at reaching that level of scoring. I'll have to give it some thought.

Not even Embiid could stop Smart.
