Following potential 2014 draftees

his performance was pretty damn good, the rebounding #'s he put up were really solid and hes worked himself into phenomenal shape at IU. However he would have been able to show more versatility on a team that had other rebounders, the biggest players on the court with him were 6'6 wing players

he could have had more opportunities for plays like this

I guess my question is if his ball handling is better than what he was able to show at IU? Was it just the situation he was in that didn't allow him to show off his skill set more? Cause his handles looked pretty good in high school, but I didn't see much of it in college.

Walter Tavares is up to the 32nd pick in DX's draft ive been pimping him as a 1st round pick for awhile now. I could see Miami or the Spurs taking him in the 1st round

Would be a good draft and stash pick. Sounds like he's only been playing basketball for 4-5 years and if nbadraft.net is correct, he's now developing under the same coach that tutored Marc Gasol.

I dont think Inglis will be at the combine he wasn't on the unofficial dx list of invites

but im all for him at 35, the defense displayed in this video is sorely lacking on the jazz, i like the way he uses his strength for a youngster

I might even consider him at 23. I know that is kind of high but he seems like a player the Spurs would grab.

Wasn't even aware of the kid. His draftexpress profile looks promising. I don't really want to draft more big men because we already have good ones in favors, kanter, gobert, rights to tomic, and gave up Al and Paul who both put in all star campaigns (which tells me that they weren't as succesful on our team because of the log jam, and weak supporting cast in other positions, as well as the obv coaching and conference change). BUT, when a kid is 7'2," scoring 11.4 pts on 60% shooting, can still hit FT's a 72% clip, grabs 12.7 REB, and blocks 3.1 shots in 21 minutes of play in the well respected ACB league, even I have to consider him as possibly too much talent to pass up.

Pretty similar stats to gobert when he was playing in the euroleague, besides the 12.7 rebs.

If the Jazz came out of this draft with Exum, Porzingis and Inglis I would feel very happy.

It would work for me. Could bring Inglis over since he has an NBA body, and stash Porzingis a year until we figure out if Kanter is a fit or not.
The Jazz aren't winning anything with OKC and Miami still at peak form so I have no problem with a longer plan.

True. Which is why I'm so conflicted/opposed to almost every big man prospect.

The way I see our team's needs based on its core is:

PG: Burke (had a decent season, but has some red flags with defense, shooting and FTA's). Neto (completely unproven). Jazz could use an upgrade.

SG: Hayward (struggled offensively, and a little TO prone, but believe he's better when others are better. Other play was solid). Burks (studly and fearless driver. Needs better D and shooting). Not as urgent of an upgrade. Let's hope Hayward returns to former 3pt marksman form, and Burks develops that. Stand pat here.

SF: who do we have? Hayward is a 2. If you put him at the 3, he can't defend with those baby raptor arms. Evans has the size for it, but he can't dribble. Marvin was a decent defending 3, but not much of a stud, and is always injured now. IN DESPERATE NEED OF AN UPGRADE.

PF: Kanter and Favors can both play this. Evans and Marvin want minutes here. Jazz just picked up Erik Murphy. There is a lot of players with a lot of potential for this position already on roster. Lets let them develop.

C: Gobert has incredible length and rim protection steez. Good rebounding too. Favors has great instincts and can man both the 4 and 5. We have th rights to Tomic. Kanter can play this as well, but not as a shot blocker. Feel good about where we are heading with who we have here.

So, SF has a glaring need, and PG could really use some depth/upgrading. This draft is so deep, it looks like we can fill those positions and still argue that we went BPA.

Not sure where you're getting those stats. Looks like 6 ppg and 6.8 rpg to me.

Oh, ha! I had my ipad on pinch zoom. It looks like I was reading his "Basic Per 40," which for some reason also lists his minutes at 21.1

With his actual stats at 21 minutes being 6 pts, 6.7 rebs, and 1.6 blks, and being 22 yrs old, I revert to my initial stance on drafting more big men (not named Embiid), which is no ****ing way!
