Following potential 2014 draftees

Kay you douches-- is there any potential offensively-gifted players that could formidably lead a team's offense a few years down the road, and do a good job of it, at the 5th spot of this year's NBA draft?

Vonleh, Saric, and Smart are the only candidates, IMO. I really don't know. I think it's a long shot for all of them.
 
I'll say this. Saric might be the best passer in this draft at 6'10. And he scored 17ppg in his league, iirc. Meaning, he might also be an underrated scorer.
 
Agree. I only really see Wiggins and Parker (and maybe Embiid) as possible 1st scoring options on a contending team. LOTS of great prospects though.
 
One thing I've been thinking about lately is how strange Russell Westbrook's rise has been. He only averaged 12.7 PPG as a sophomore in college, and now he's one of the league's premiere scorers. You could look at him and say, "Well, he has elite physical gifts, so he always had the potential in him." But it still seems really strange that he managed to develop that much as a scorer.

Am I way off? What was Westbrook's perceived potential at that time?

I ask mainly because Aaron Gordon strikes me as someone else with those elite physical gifts, motor, competitiveness, work ethic and so on... Is there even the slightest chance that his offensive production could take a similar rise in time? Or was Westbrook's offensive ceiling always viewed as higher than what Gordon's seems to be now?

Ditto. The only thing I'm afraid with Saric is his potential to become a bust. I want him turn down all the offers from Euro teams and come to the NBA as soon as he gets drafted. I believe that would increase his chances to become that special player that everyone hopes him to be.

The best basketball vision overall though, belongs to Micic on this year's draft, I'm including Exum, Smart and all the other PG prospects. However he has his shortcomings that will make him probably a second rounder.

He's projected at 36th overall and we have a 35th pick……

For his position though Westbrook had it all, elite athleticism, elite wingspan, elite motor. Aaron Gordon only has 2 of the 3. There was some concern Westbrook would have to play SG, and PG is still not a perfect role for him, but he knows how to physically dominate enough to make up for his occasional bad decision making.
