Following potential 2014 draftees

I like Jordan clarkson but if the jazz take vonleh at 5 I will be wanting tj warren big time at 23. I would hope clarkson would fall to 35.

warren is the scorer the jazz need. he is a consistent shot away from being very good. also defense.

For $2M they can probably trade up into the first round with their #35. In fact, it may not cost them much at all. Teams near the end of the draft sometimes prefer unguaranteed picks, especially if they are up against the tax threshold.

A recent mock draft had Clarkson going to the spurs at 30 and it sounds like his stock has been raising due to his workouts.

He also shot really well at the draft combine. He said that his trainer has helped him fix his shot where his release is higher and he doesn't dip as much.

Have we completely forgotten about Randle ?

The prevalence of group think on this site is hysterical. So yes, JF has forgotten about him, but if you look anywhere outside of JF, Randle is definitely in the mix with JF favorites Vonleh, Gordon, Exum and Smart.

I think the jazz wrote that article and handed it to Tony Jones. I find it hard to believe that the jazz would be that open about moving favors without WANTING to advertise. Don't know if it is a smokescreen or legit attempt to get offers for trading up.(the article posted by Vermin)

glass half empty

He's a great three point shooter though!

Through his first 13 college games from three; 1-6, not bad a modest 16.6%.

Through his next 13 college games from three; 12-18, a very good 66.6%.

His last 4 college games from three; 3-9, very average 33.3%.

When you cherry pick ridiculously small sample sizes (like 4 games) the analysis is meaningless. Korver made 9-31 threes in December 2013 over 6 games, an ugly 29%. terrible shooter, no?

A more meaningful sample might be his last 17 games, when, after getting over college adjustments and taking a higher frequency of 3s, he hit 56%. A 17 game fluke? I'd love to have a bigger sample size, sure. But an athletic and long big who rebounds and can also knock down a 3?

Regarding leading a team to tournament, Karl Malone in his freshman year did not lead La Tech to the NIT, NCAA or even the "mighty" Southland conference championship, playing against a far inferior class of teams (Texas Tech, Rice, McNeese, UL-Monroe).

I think it is based on an offhand comment made by Perrin. I imagine the new coach will have a "little" say in the matter as well. Assuming they want to trade Kanter, it would only hurt his trade value.
