Following potential 2017 draftees...

The fact that there isn't much consensus after #15 or 16 so in the draft shows that the talent level is pretty even. That parity may even extend from around 18 - 40 or so. In particular, there are a ton of big players who are similar in terms of ability, but may be better at one aspect of the game or another. So if teams want a quality big player especially, this year's draft is unique and really deep.

I mean, here's a list of bigs who could go anywhere from 18 to around 40 in this draft. It's just a ton ---

TJ Leaf
Justin Patton
Harry Giles
John Collins
Jonathan Jeanne
Ike Anigbogu
Bam Adebayo
Isaiah Hartenstein
Anzejs Pasecniks
Ivan Rabb
Jordan Bell
Tyler Lydon
DJ Wilson
Kyle Kuzma
Jonah Bolden
Caleb Swanigan
Mathias Lessort
Thomas Bryant
Jonathan Motley
Tony Bradley
Semi Ojeleye

That's 21.

I'm still intrigued by Caleb Swanigan... especially if we got him in the second round. Clearly a worker, rebounds, shoots, good passer, he is likely Kanteresque in the PnR, but if Kanter could shoot 40% from 3 and was a good passer would you want him.

I hope the Jazz work him out. My only concern with him is his conditioning and running the floor, but he tested pretty well at the Combine.

Another look at Jonathan Jeanne. Put Rudy and this guy on the floor together, and the Jazz start to look like an exhibit from Jurassic Park.

I think he can work his way into good shape. It may be easier to make the fat guy get into better shape than make the skinny guy gain good weight.

I just look at the guy losing the weight he already has and improving almost everything about his game and think that doesn't happen on accident. Give the guy a better environment and more help who knows.

Also, I think sometimes evaluators focus too much on what a guy can't do... good passing, shooting, and post up ability could make him pretty valuable. I just think the upside there is pretty high.

I haven't seen John Collins brought up in this thread for a little bit.

He has some nice post moves. Good scorer, good rebounder. Hit 16 of 25 threes at the combine despite not shooting threes at all at Wake. Possible pick for us?

He's a little out of our range. That's why I think he hasn't been brought up all that much.

He got bust written all over him, if I was jazz and he was available when I picked I would still pass on him. Jazz got 2 late round picks in a very deep draft. Id explore trading up if I was Jazz. Yall have some nice young players and package those 2 picks to try to move up. TJ Leaf is going be a solid pro. If I was Jazz id be looking at him. He can stretch the floor and he has some international experience, Good blood lines and has just produced so far in his young basketball career. He might be gettong overlooked because he played on a team with Lonzo Ball but a few times last year Leaf bailed them out with superb games. He balled out in that first UCLA, UK matchup. He is going end up going late to a playoff team and he will be good from the start coming off a teams bench. Picture perfect stretch 4 in the new nba.

He is basically a skinny Enes Kanter who can jump a bit higher.
