What makes his numbers translate any less than say Wilson or Lydon?

Lydon is a prototypical shooter with an ideal stroke and range out to 29 feet. He can shoot off the catch, on the move off screens and a bit off the bounce. He has a quick release and can get his shot off in traffic. There's no question his shooting should translate.
Leaf needs quite a bit of time and space to shoot, since he needs to square up and plant both feet. His shooting motion is slow, a bit like Pau Gasol. He'll shoot if he's wide open, but he doesn't appear to be versatile in his ability to get looks. He's not a threat to pull up off the bounce or off a screen.
Leaf is a high-IQ guy with good motor and some intangibles, who will make smart plays and be a bit crafty in the paint. I just want more upside, because I think a lot of his appeal is redundant with Lyles.
