Late lotto.
I can't remember where I heard it but I heard Kuzma is killing workouts everywhere.
It wasn't Swag Daddy... he isn't a guy that likely impresses in the workout setting. I saw before and after a of Kevin Love recently... if swanigan loses weight he could be a steal. Love was a porker when he came into the league.
I think he goes 11.
I could definitely see them drafting Kuzma in the first round. The whole reason they liked Lyles is for his playmaking potential and Kuzma has that in his game more than any other 4 in this draft.
And yeah, I really doubt it was Swanigan. Tony Jones hinted that Swanigan's workout wasnt great.
He works in the media in SLC, I'm sure he hears things. And again, he never explicitly said Swanigan was bad, he just implied it.Would TJ know? I don't think he sees the workouts and he's as dependent as we are on what Walt Perrin says (unless he's also relying on background sources). And there's at least the possibility that Perrin may want to not directly alert the press to a great workout.
But I certainly agree with you in the abstract that it's more likely Kuzma than Swanigan. I'm not sure if I'd say that Kuzma has more playmaking potential than any other 4, though. I think Leaf may be on par that way, though with a somewhat different type of playmaking (I think Kuzma's more likely is a full-court type of playmaking potential whereas Leaf might be better within the 3-point line).
I think Kuzma has done more workouts than any other prospect.
If Kuzma is performing well in workouts, I wonder why that's not yet reflected in the DX mock. This should be about the time when Givony starts to be getting good intel about risers and fallers from the workout process.
I haven't noticed anybody mention it - I listened to a Locke interview on 1280 and they asked him if there has been a Rudy Gobert level workout this year. They usually ask him this specific question every year and he always says there hasn't been anything close to it. This time he said there were 2 that weren't exactly Gobert-level but they were close. The Jazz probably have at least two prospects they like very much. I think only Donovan Mitchell is a player who has worked out for us that is out of our range.

at the very end.
It has already been brought up and someone said he hinted that one of them was a local?
Locke had a mock draft with his Locked on network and he reportedly picked Tony Bradley at 24 and traded up to 27 from 30 to pick Derrick White. Both of them have had a workout with the Jazz.
I LOATHE the Bradley pick. I wouldn't pick him at 55, let alone at 24.
