flawless showing from Temple in this first half.. damn.. WSU ran into a buzz-saw...

I mentioned that Echenoiya is a possible NBA player last season too. This is like a Steve Novak vs UConn type showing, in the first half at-least.. He hasn't missed.. 4/4 from 3, he's 6'10" for those who don't know who i'm talkking about.

The thing about this Temple team, and I've watched em a ton, is they execute their offense!!!! Thats what they do.. Its like clockwork here in this game..
 
Watched Frazier last night and was thoroughly unimpressed. Now, likely just a bad game, but i didn't love his shooting stroke and he really didn't do much else out there. Will have to try to catch Tulane again.
 
Tony Carr ladies and gentleman.. This dude needs to take a bow in the middle of this game to each side of the crowd.. this is like some other ****...

Whats the best way I can describe tony carr... It might be best thru a video game reference... "Burst damage" ? familiar with that, Tony Carr is capable of immense wreckage at the drop of a dime.. He brings massive burst damage/firepower to the table...

The boxscore doesn't even do it justice at all... Thats just about the loudest 22 points you will ever see(other than the way someone like Gobert drops 22 on you, this particular performance is even beyond that tho tbh, this is straight BLOW YOUR DOORS OFF..)....

whatever internet props/brownie points/whatever goes on here, I deserve a fistful of them of them for pointing this kid out in the fashion I did.. I was spot on in my assessment... which was THIS KID is one of the 4-star PG's that would've been 5-stars ina normal year but was pushed down by Lonzo, DS JR, Fox, Frank Jackson etc.
 
Jacob Evans 1-6 in this game today... It was an ugly shooting night... Purdue had a similar issue... I would advise not to draw too much of a conclusion from these games... They are amatuers after all.. Gotta cut em some slack, everyone has bad shooting nights...
 
Arizona St closes the half on a furious 23-6 run... Ayton is gonna get featured here in the 2nd half, should be a good show..
 
I feel good about having listed Donovan Mitchell as a CG and not a SG or SG/PG. I was pretty staunch about that pre-draft.. I used to say if u watch him he's not a limited passer, he had that timing/awareness for quick dumpoffs when the help is over-extended his way... he just so happens to be one of those players thats best suited to score.

As y'all have probably deduced at this point, i like to give these types the benefit of the doubt, there's always immense room for improvement to pass -- it's easy...


Was I wrong when I used to tell people to stop panicking about losing Hayward, and the Jazz can play .500 or better ball without him? These are the types of things I got tons of **** for saying here...

I remember when I first saw Carr, I thought "He kinda looks like Marlo from the Wire" LOL

I swear u watch him, he's kinda got that sort of mindset, he's not playing to win he's playing to win in devastating fashion.... This kid is not wasting time... He deadly serious like it's crunch time from the opening tip..

U gotta love this ****.. IDK how u can say otherwise.. This is one player turning the heat up on a powerhouse squad much higher than they can handle... I threw my hands up in the air watching this ****..
 
Now that the Jazz draft positioning is weakened. I wanna just say 3 names;

Daniel Gafford, Anfernee Simons and Mitchell Robinson. Robinson and Gafford can both complement Utah's frontcourt completely, they aren't pure C's, anyone who says that isn't paying close enough attention, these 2 glide laterally..


These 3 are HIGH POTENTIAL choices.. Their ceilings are higher than the surrounding names..
 
I think the Jazz should probably go big with their pick. However, if they're drafting outside the top 15 and Robert Williams is off the board, I think they should take a serious look at Issac Bonga. He's probably going to measure 6'10" this spring with a 7' wing-span. He handles, passes, can run pick-and-roll, can rebound and go, can finish at the rim, and can really run the floor. He just needs to add strength, fix his jumper and acclimate to playing as a forward. He should end up 6'10" and 225 lbs when it's said and done, and could be the Dante Exum of forwards.

The Jazz would eventually have a line-up with Mitchell, Rubio/Exum, Ingles, Bonga and Gobert, where everyone outside of Rudy can initiate offense and score at three levels. The ball would really move, and the Jazz would have mismatches at 2 or 3 positions every night. They'd also have plenty of length on defense.

I'd put in a vote for Jared Vanderbilt, but he's not showing that the can score, and he doesn't really get above the rim. I doubt Vanderbilt comes out this year. If he does, he might resemble Jerian Grant (OKC) in the near term, a guy who defends, rebounds and gets a few putbacks.

If the Jazz don't go big, there are a half dozen wings they can look at, and you guys have been mentioning them all, but then we're talking about a rookie playing behind Ingles, Crowder and O'Neale for the next two years, while we've still got a gaping hole next to Gobert in the front court.
