Following Potential 2018 Draftees

I've listened to workout interviews with most of the 1st round prospects in the draft. Troy Brown and Jacob Evans are probably the two best at interviewing from what I've seen. Good attitudes, show IQ in interviews, and charismatic.

I'm really excited at how deep this draft is. No matter what happens on draft night we should be able to get a good player, even if our top 2 or 3 targets are no longer on the board.

Good summary, Catchall. If the Jazz really like a player and draft him earlier than projected, I have no problem with that. Starters are set dependind on Favs. If Quin wants someone like Allen to provide immediate help, I could see that. Or Jazz can go with someone they know will be stashed in the GLeague and add a FA.

Denver getting a look at the player they will draft for us.

Found out this morning that one of the guys I play ball with is a Nuggets fan... I told him thank you and gave him a hug... he knew exactly why I was doing it.

The question is how the Jazz have these players ranked. My guess is that they have clear preferences and will make an attempt to trade up into the teens to get the one they really want. I doubt that the Jazz just passively sit at 21, especially when they have 3 non-guaranteed contracts to offer a team. Like last year, I think the goal may need to be to get ahead of San Antonio at #18.

Wonder what we can give to our boy Igor to get up to PHX's pick at 16. Phx wants to make the POs this year if they can.

They dont have 3 non-guaranteed contracts to offer. Those dont count in trades and cant be used to save a team money against the cap/tax. New rules that went into effect in 2017.

I like him... I think there is a lot to work with... I think where he goes may be key in determining how he develops though. I could see a coach like Doc Rivers letting him figure things out for himself and kinda struggling.

I also think he won't be around when we pick. any of the teams 12-20 he would fit.

Yeah, I'm thinking his floor might be the Spurs, but there are so many guys in this range that a guy could easily fall.

The Jazz could include them in a trade that takes back some salary, and the other team could waive one or more of those guys. They'd be pieces used to make a trade work.
