Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Kilian Tillie had a decent game for Gonzaga with 9 pts, 12 rebs, 1 blk, 1 ast. He's probably more of a complementary player.

Rui Hachimura with double figures (5/8) off the bench.

Chemezie Metu with 18/10/2 blks for USC, including 2/2 from 3 pt. If he adds the 3-pt shot, look out.

I will say watching the Kentucky game, I am intrigued by Knox. He looked better than I expected.

Now this is high praise coming from Cy about a UK player. Right now I have Knox #6 on my big board and possibly #5. Bamba needs to be insane defensively to keep his spot.

yeah, competition and all, but Bagley's first two games have been pretty solid. everybody plays bad teams the first couple times out, but not many guys have gotten 25 and 10 on 65% FGs in their first two games. not to mention he will play the entire season at age 18 so he's one of the younger frosh's in the country. the michigan state game should be interesting.

At the college level, Bagley is physically dominant. In the pros he's going to look more like Marquese Chriss, but he's got more motor and aggression than Chriss.

Jaren Jackson sure looks good physically as a PF/C. He gets all over the floor to challenge shots. He has enough length and motor to really affect the game. I was worried about his mobility, but it looks good. Now the question is whether he can shoot.

Then we can rotate Exum, Mitchell, Hood and Rubio at the guard spots.

I'm keyed in on Kevin Knox, Jared Vanderbilt, Jaren Jackson Jr., Robert Williams and Justin Jackson. I'd really like the Jazz to come away with two guys in this draft. Both Vanderbilt and Knox can likely play at the 3 while Williams and Jackson would give us length and some shooting at the 4. The Jazz could be one of the longest, most versatile teams in the league.

Bagley is much more skilled and smart player than Chriss, much better defender... different type of player. The only thing similar between the two is that they jump high.

Consensus Top 10 picks so far (call it pre-season) seem to be:

1 - 5
Luca Doncic
Michael Porter Jr.
Deandre Ayton
Marvin Bagley
Mo Bamba

6 - 10
Kevin Knox
Miles Bridges
Jaren Jackson
Colin Sexton
Robert Williams

There seems to be a talent drop-off after the top 10 or so. Other guys who could potentially go lottery include:

Trevon Duval
Hamidou Diallo
Wendell Carter
Bruce Brown
Lonnie Walker
Jared Vanderbilt

The more I look at Luca Doncic, the more I'm sure he's the #1 pick and it's not close. He's better than Ben Simmons right now, quite a bit better. He's unreal.
