Following Potential 2018 Draftees

One might think after drafting Porzingis and with both Hernangomez and Ntilikina showing a lot of promise that Knicks fans could finally rid themselves of stigmatizing international talent in the city with the most national diversity in the whole country, but I think you may be onto something...

Nope, they drafted Frederic Weis so they will always boo.

I think if the Jazz got themselves a PF with shooting + playmaking that would be best case. It would allow Rubio to focus on passing with decent spacing while two knockdown shooters are manning wing positions(2 out of Mitchell, Hood, Ingles, Burks)

The guy I'm describing is the prototypical Lebron, Kawhi, Giannis, KD, Paul George, Ben Simmons, etc., whether he'd play at the 3 or the 4.

But how we gonna find that outside the lottery? That's pretty unlikely, since the NBA is right now stabilizing in the analytics era with unicorns being the outlier, where some players are just way better in certain aspects of the game that players their size usually are.

The Jazz would be better off getting a Draymond Green at the 4 than praying a super-star falls in their lap. Jazz offense looks good enough that they don't need to have two big time scorers, just Mitchell and pieces.

Yeah, well prototypically atypical then.

Kilian Tillie has a smidge of potential in the late first round, and there's that weird Issac Bonga guy, but I think Vanderbilt is probably the sleeper we need if we're picking around 18 - 22.

Agree as long as everyone can shoot, defend, and pass.

We don’t need a volume scorer. Maybe a little more creation but Rudy, DM, and shooters/passers and we are gold.

I think a Draymond is too weak of a shooter. When defense and hustle can't be maximized because there's this 7'2 juggernaut cleaning the whole paint area, you'd rather take 40+% outside shooting and are happy when that player is limited physically in what he can contribute individually on defense but engaged nevertheless.

The Jazz need a 6'8" or so two-way, triple-threat player with solid length and plus athleticism to play out of the high post. Ingles won't quite cut it, and Hood is more of a release-valve type. This is basically the role that Joe Johnson was playing in the Clippers series last year, especially Game 4 when Hayward was out, but we want someone more athletic who plays faster and can get on top of the rim.

Assuming we're out of the lottery, I'm still hoping Jared Vanderbilt comes back and plays well enough to enter the draft.

Good choice. He's just what you're looking for.
Keep an eye on JUCO X-fer Alize Johnson at Missouri State. Possible 2nd rd sleeper that could fit this description quite well.

Yes, NBAdarft swears by this dude. Rough start to the season from 3 but he looks legit in the 2nd IMO. U can catch a replay of their last game on ESPN3, it's not gonna be easy to watch him.

I'd take Draymond over Ryan Anderson any day.
