Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Okay. I'm going to move on after this unless you say something refutable. In the future, if a somebody in this forum floats an idea based off of another team's GM stating that every player on the roster is available, just look the other way if somebody simply says:

- "I think we should pursue _____ player because he fits what we need."

Obviously, you don't think it's even worth the conversation because you know who is and isn't truly available. All I said was "we should really pursue Kuzma and the conversation starts with at least...." Because, you know, that's dumb...

I mean, I’d like to have a car that’s over $100k, but I know that’s not realistic so I don’t entertain the idea.

Do you get that concept?

Maybe if I trade a 99 Corolla, a 2007 Suburban, but agree to take a rusted Ford Pinto the dealership will just throw in a Bentley.

Let’s discuss this guys!

Don’t know anything about him but he shoots an easy ball... worth a second round pick if we can get one in the 30s based on other things folks have posted about him.

I was being a bit facetious with the Donte/Burke comp, but my overall point was undersized shooters have a hard time making it in the league unless they are really talented (guys like Eric Gordon and Lou Williams).

Okay good. It’s a valid concern. Just from what smart people have said about his defense I’m not concerned. I see him as a combo 1/2 but more of a 1 if he’s starter level. I think his most likely to role if he reaches his potential is a high level third guard creator of the bench (similar to the guys mentioned above). If he shoots well I think his handle is good enough and he can run pick and roll well enough to have creation value... if he can’t get separation he’s Pat Connaughton.

I think he can be our 4th/5th guard his rookie year and contribute... think he can play with Royce, Dante on the second unit but is also a good fit with DM or Ricky if he improves. He has a low floor, but might have a lower ceiling too.

I’d rather have KBD, Okobo (I think... would love to know what he is like personality wise) but would be happy with Donte. I’d prolly have Evans ahead of him too.

Depending on what the Jazz think of Hutchison I’d love to eff with Chicago... who drafts after us and apparently made him a promise... take him and see how much they really want him - assuming there isn’t some guy we love that slipped... like KBD.

I like most the guys in our range... not a shake Milton fan but I’d talk myself into him.

@Dr. Jones This Kira Lewis kid looks truly awesome. I'm a HUGE fan/believer in his talents. I just recently went thru his footage and it's undeniably dazzling. He's NBA starting PG quick, easily. Looks like a lotto pick to me. How was he so underrated? Lol

I saw Nfaly dante play 2 summers ago when he was 6'7. He's scary good already, looks like Serge Ibaka already its rediculous, he's a lock for the top5. UK must get these kids.

A Lewis / Maxey backcourt would be a buzzsaw just chewing thru defenses... That'd be one of Cals best guard pairings tbh....
agree with all that

So Bleacher Report’s mock had us taking some Michigan dude i’ve never heard of with KBD still on the board (taken next pick). I know we don’t know DL’s mind, but that’s not happening right?

Probably Mo Wagner. No, I don't see that happening.

Lol I wish someone here would engage me in convo bout my years of spot on predictions on Hayward, especially Cy, he's too busy riding his high horse to face that music tho... I won that argument in landslide, nearly flawless, fashion, If u really look too I swore up and down the Jazz were gonna be a playoff team if hayward and hill walked, which is how it played out exactly..

No one here used the word replaceable in reference to Hayward nearly as much as me, way more ppl *cough* suckers *cough* were in the stockholm syndrome boat and thougt it was prudent to max and appease him.

Now that the dust is long settled Hayward performed well for this franchise on the court -- he didnt nearly perform as well as an asset though, he was more like a high priced whore than a true franchise talent who strengthened the cause. He'd have served this team much better being trade bait at the draft or deadline, he'd also have served this team better if he let the organisation know his true intentions instead of stringing them along. The FO deserves some blame for this too, they failed at sniffing out a deserter til it was too late.

Y'all treated Hayward like he was the young wolf and king of the north, Robb Stark.. We'd have been much better off appliing some Tywin Lannister style logic, the house (The franchise)/sigil is the top priority always, exceptions can be made - but not for Hayward, he was never powerful enough to qualify.

As i predicted many years back Jason Tatum's gonna be better than him for sure.

What'd I say about video game players being inherently greedy and conditioned to finding the path of least resistance? Saw the **** coming a mile(several years) away.

I said before the 2016 trade deadline that we should trade Hayward. Then I said it again before the 2016 NBA draft. I got roasted for the opinion. I've moved on though. I like the team we have now.
