Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Is anyone worried about Huerter getting his shot off consistently? That release is so far in front of his body.

The defender gets a decent contest and it was off a Huerter stepback.

His shot is pretty quick, but it looks flick-y to me sometimes. I know his percentages speak for themselves and his ability to shoot off screens is valuable, but I guess I'm not as high on him as others. But, I do realize that we'd probably be drafting him at 21, so every player there is going to have flaws.

But only cap relief for NY in 2 years (by trading Burks and Crowder, for example). By then, Noah's contract is expiring and may actually have some value for NY. There's no way we can get to even the early teens without giving up a player we want to keep. Jazz just don't have good, young, tradeable assets.

Actually I think Charlotte’s pick is available as they would be able to get under luxury tax if they traded one of their bad long term deals for Burks and change. I am talking about Williams, MKG or Zeller as salaries would almost match with Burks I think and he has just one year left as opposed to 3 for Williams and Zeller and 2 for MKG.

I don’t think it’s worth the hassle though.

Charlotte is at $118K for 12 players. The 11th pick should be around $3M or so. If the tax is at $120M, I'm sure they want to make a minor move, but I doubt they give up their pick to do so. Even a pick swap with Utah would be unlikely, IMO. I think they could probably get rid of say, Lamb and a 2nd for a minimum salary player.

Yes, this was the reason I saw him bust in my dream. I don't think he will get his shot off as consistently against NBA defenders. He will still be valuable as a spot-up shooter but nothing that makes me excited.

No. Watch the game vs syracuse u will see he cann get shots off when they know its coming. He's got very deep range and has a nice feel for pulling up from deep and spatial awareness on the perimeter . If there was anything this past szn helped him with, it was this. U played Maryland this szn the first thing it shouldve said in the scouting report in bold red letters "no open looks for huerter!’.

He's sorta like reggie miller too, reggie is gonna love him.. Reggie when hot had such muscle memory that he didnt actually need a clean visual of the rim for a shot to be pure, huerters that way too long as he gets his feet set and his motion is good the ball has a high chance of going in. Michael Porter Jr is like this too.

Kaiser Gates is a sleeper pick for utah in the2nd. Anyone know if he's worked out?

Don't see him mocked anywhere but i think he's got a good chance. Clearly was underutilized at Xavier.

I made a Matrix of some key mock drafts I follow where I feel like the guys making them have some basketball intelligence. I wanted to make my own thread for it, but I guess I don't have privileges to start a new thread yet. I only included players who showed up in a 1st round mock. It gives a rough idea of where to expect players to be drafted.

When i look at the above matrix what pops out to me the most is Mitchell Robinson at 27. dunno how he could possibly fall that far.

Aaron Holiday and Grayson Allen overrated
