Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Pure speculation, Jazz are gonna try to trade up for Miles Bridges. If that fails they'll try to trade up for Brown. If that fails and Brown doesn't fall to 21, they take Musa or Allen.

Miles Bridges fits the mold of being able to play next year as well as having very high upside. Also seems like he could be a great versatile glue guy if he doesn't turn into a star level player.

I wonder how many prospects the Jazz take to dinner like they did Musa.

Yeah that was interesting that he mentioned that. I don't recall any of our writers ever tweeting about them taking a prospect out for dinner. I've seen stories about the Knicks and other teams doing it, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was very common, but still.

Yeah, I'm sure it happens a lot, but he's the only one Perrin brought it up about. He sounded giddy talking about him. It would make sense because Utah loved Hood when they drafted him and Musa (similar game) is light years ahead of Hood at the same age.

If we stay put (unlikely), it could be the Musa. He can contribute right away and become a better player. His body worries me, but he does have alot of skill and a great resume. He can play the 1 to 3 (and if he gets stronger a small ball 4). Kevin Pelton's STATS only analysis says that he will be the 3rd best player and Kevin's Pelton's adjusted analysis has him at number 7.

Over the last few weeks we've heard Perrin and Tony Jones mention that the Jazz are looking for upside and potential and aren't afraid to go young.

Musa is 19, one of the youngest players in the class.

Perrin raved about the workout today, a workout Musa was involved in. Then he goes on Sportsbeat and raves about Musa. He even brings up that they had dinner last night.

Musa love confirmed??

Musa is pretty exciting as a scorer tho.
Yeah, he is... I wouldn't be disappointed if we draft him in a vacuum. I have him straight in our range. I would be disappointed that we didn't draft a top 10 player on my board(Okobo).

Also - worth pointing out - the Jazz took Musa out to dinner last night before his workout today. Seems like they are getting to know him. + #LockeWatch for him picking him in his mock draft. Last year, Locke telegraphed our Bradley pick by taking him with our first pick at 24 in his podcast mock, when noone had him projected in the first round... then he had the DX and ESPN guys on his podcast and told them he took him in his mock draft and they immediately followed suit and mocked him to us at 30.

I can't believe I'm warming up to Grayson Allen. Been watching some of his stuff since he had an impressive combine. I used to prefer Svi from Kansas over him because I hated him so much, but now I really do think he's gonna be a decent NBA player. I don't really want to have to root for him though :/

I just really hope Troy Brown falls to us, but it doesn't look likely that it's gonna happen. Seems like there's a pretty consensus tier that ends at around 16 or 17.
