Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Protecting the rim as a 4 is going to be a thing too. KBD is the only guy with mentionable ability there of the crop of 3+D wings/combo forwards.

The only other guys in our range that has a little pop to their skillset, supposedly, is Brown as he supposedly can handle the ball and has good vision. I really worry he only develops into a rudimentary shooter, however, and that's almost a deal-breaker for me, especially with his pretty-good/not great athleticism.

Zhaire Smith isn't going to be there at 21. He also isn't good at, you know, basketball.

This team has plenty of dunking ability if they can space the floor effectively, but more athleticism would be nice.

When teams switch and trap on defense, you want a guy who can just blow by the coverage. Mitchell was the only guy we had who could do that....until we played Burks a few minutes. Exum too, I suppose.

So I will restate my desires for players in our range so I'm clear:
-Huerter
-Big Ragu
-KBD or Okobo
-One of Thomas/Okogie/Frazier

Do you think highlights are more important than a solvent half-court offense and defense? I don't.

What you're describing is a luxury.

Why isn't Okogie more explosive off the bounce? For a guy with that kind of length and speed, he seems a bit passive. We want someone who will punish the defense when they over-rotate on Donovan.

My first thought would be “college basketball” and lack of spacing.

Next would be the fact that his team was garbage and he was the only real threat, so more lane cloggage.

Long story short, I think he’s the kinda prospect that is better as a pro.

If we're talking about bonkers athleticism, let's find a way to get Jarred Vanderbilt and somehow get him in the rotation. As a backup 5, he could be a serious, serious impact player.
