The Jazz are going to take Fears at 5 & I’m irate about. I can’t believe they’d take him over Tre Johnson.

I really don’t want a pure scorer that plays no defense and brings little else to the table. I just don’t. I think Fears is a fine prospect if you don’t care about defense, but I care about defense. I am somewhat flexible on the defense if they seriously elevate their teammates, but I’m not seeing that. A lot of the same could be said for Tre. Fears will be harder to hide, though, and he is for sure a worse shooter so he would be a big disappointment if they go that way.

I’ve watched Fears. I also watched his game against Texas a&m where he literally scored 0 points.
I don’t care how dominant he was. I don’t want another small guard on the Jazz (6’5” wingspan) that can’t shoot from the outside.
I know you watched that game, cause you won’t shut up about it.
I think the Jazz would take Fears or Kon if both Ace and Tre are gone, but everything depends on how the first few picks play out.
There's another possibility here, which is that Fears does go at #5, but the Jazz trade back a spot or two and still take Tre Johnson. Meanwhile the Jazz could move up from 21.

So they would pass on VJ in that scenario? I just can’t see that.
I think Fears v. Edgecombe is a reasonable discussion.
That would be wild but I don’t think we even get there.
If we take Fears it’s because we passed on Ace or Tre and I don’t see that. And I like Fears.
