Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Traore had 20/6/4 on 7/10 shooting just now. I don't 100% understand the setting, but seems like it was a playoff type game. He carried his team in the second half to get the game within reach, but ended up missing a tough layup that could have tied the game at the end. I'll reiterate that the team he plays on is garbage, so this was pretty impressive.

Here are the full game highlights.

This is an intriguing development. I still would take a chance on Traore. I think the ghosts of Killian Hayes, Frankie Smokes, and for me Elie Okobo haunt him.

If we didn't land Harper or Kas with our pick then taking Traore with the Minny pick (something that seems possible right now) would be a nice bet.

I also think this draft is one you can potentially move up in to the 5-14 range if there is someone you want. I would like to see us target someone at some point and get aggressive.

There are some similarities with Hayes for sure. Similar to Hayes, Traore needs to be able to shoot it at least league average to be an NBA player.

FWIW Hayes has played well in the G League this year and is only 23, so maybe he gets another shot. I think he is like top 5 in assists.

This was well-represented. College KD >>>> anyone in this draft but there are certainly parallels between Bailey and KD's skillsets.

Ace is a damn good player and very exciting prospect. I was higher on Harper pre-BIG 10 play but it's hard not to be concerned about the drop off in production (in fairness I have missed several of those games).

Would certainly lean towards an order of 1) Flagg, 2) Ace, 3) Harper at this point but if Ace keeps playing (and shooting) like this he'll get a hard look at #1 by some folks.

I remember Paul George as a prospect in 2010. He was the guy I wanted the Jazz to draft. Bailey is close to PG13 as a prospect, other than PG being more explosive off the dribble and being better at getting downhill.

The cost of moving up is always high, but yeah, this draft looks pretty flat to me after the top 6 or 7 guys (Edgecombe/Maluach). I think there will be someone who makes a rise later in the process, like Coulibaly did a couple years ago. I think Carter Bryant has that potential, as one example.

Traore is more dynamic off the dribble than Hayes. That's worth something.

Not always. Seems like its either reasonable or just a flat "no". OKC got the Dieng pick for a handful of protected picks. We got Donny for Trey effing Lyles and the 20th pick or whatever. I could see Golden State or Houston moving back 6-7 spots if the minny pick ends up 17 ish. Give them one of the 2027 picks we own. NOP I could see also doing something.

There are quite a few back up bigs that look to be available in the second round. I've watched both of the Ivisic brothers and think they can play a small role in the NBA. Raynaud was good the game I watched him. Then there is Broome and Kalkbrenner. If we are looking for a backup big, this might be a good draft to do that in the second round if we can acquire a pick.

I think Rocco Zikarsky should be a viable player. He may make it to the late 20s or early 30s.
