I'm kind of bored with pick 5 and I'm moving on to pick 21. I really want a defensive play maker at that pick and so I'm looking at Fleming, Yaxel, Philon, Beringer, Penda, and Philon.
Checked it out. His senior year he shot 84% and 80% as a junior, so not quite the same as 87% as a Freshman.Delon Wright was like an 85% ft shooter in college, and I would consider him a below average shooter in the NBA. He might be the exception to the rule, but he came to mind almost immediately (although I am a big Ute fan).
Jimmer was because of his shot selection/difficulty.The other one that came to mind was Jimmer, but I had to look that one up. He was close to an 89% free throw shooter, but only shot an average 3pt% in the NBA.
I think the key here is probably wings that shot 80% ft% or higher in college and weren't good shooters in the NBA, and I can't think of any.
So how did this dude get such a low number? It doesn't math. Cy said he flubbed it. What does that mean? How could you even flub it? Dont you just stand there and stick your arms up and get measured?to give an idea, labaron philon was 6'4" in shoes with a wingspan of 6'6" and had the same standing reach. so he's a lot shorter, has shorter arms and had the same standing reach.
or
alijah martin who was only 6'3" in shoes, had a 6'7" wingspan and had the same standing reach.
Kobe Sanders had nearly the same height and wingspan and had a standing reach of 8'7"
Ok, I don't really want to spend too much time looking things up to go against your larger point that I don't disagree with.Jimmer was because of his shot selection/difficulty.
And I didnt say 80%. I said 87%. I think there is a pretty big difference between the two. Pretty hard to find many prospects who shoot 87% on nearly 5 attempts per game as a Freshman.
Just stand up and raise your hand. Then try to stretch your shoulder and reach higher. It's going to be a good 2-3 inch difference. So how did this dude get such a low number? It doesn't math. So this dude didn't stretch? Isn't he trying to make money in the nba by getting drafted? Wouldn't he know or even be coached on how to do a standing reach measurement? Hell it seems like the dude measuring him might even be like "bruh, you have to really stretch/reach more. You are doing this all wrong"Just stand up and raise your hand. It's so when you do the max vert test your number looks higher. So this dude didn't stretch? Isn't he trying to make money in the nba by getting drafted? Weird.
Ah, I see. Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense now. It's so when you do the max vert test your number looks higher.
