Not a direct comp per se. Kon is also a flame thrower and Joe was not originally... and Kon got that thiccness downstairs that Ingles ain't got.

Its the high level connective piece part of Joe's game that gives some similarities.

I think Kon's best case is a better defending Ty Jerome, which can be a really good player, but not someone im taking 5th.

yep. Flagg would be one from this very draft - i mean, we sure as hell expect him to be successful anyway.

i'm not really sure what he was getting at by throwing out Hayward since Kon is more hyped than Hayward was - especially if he's in serious consideration at 5.

Not sure that is the insult you want it to be. Ty put up 23/6 per36 this year on 64% TS. Big beefy Ty Jerome may not be a bad thing at all.

not bad at all - every team can use a Ty Jerome, just not a guy you draft at 5. you can get those guys - Jerome himself being a prime example - much later in the draft. you don't tank so you can draft Ty Jerome.

A bigger stronger version of that guy might be closer to an all-star than 6th man of the year type.

bigger/stronger in this case also means slower, not as athletic. By saying he's a bigger Ty Jerome, Cy basically just described Sam Merrill. Also, a very useful player, but not a guy you tank for.

I assume this has been brought up before, but I'm watching a lot of Kon and I keep seeing Joe Ingles.

He's got more paint game and plays off of two feet more than Ingles, but rolewise yeah, he's that big guard who can playmake and shoot.

There are "buy this not that" versions of a bunch of these guys in the 3-7 range.

Tre - Cam Thomas
Kon - Thicc Jerome
Fears - Tre Mann
VJ - Gary Harris

Not sure why some get the false ceiling and others don't.

I assume this has been brought up before, but I'm watching a lot of Kon and I keep seeing Joe Ingles.

Ehhhh, there's some comparison in that they're both great shooters who can dribble and pass a bit, but Kon is probably the best spotup shooting prospect I've ever seen while I remember Ingles being often way too hesitant to pull the trigger on spot-ups. Kon meanwhile isn't currently close to Ingles as an off the dribble shooter (but maybe he can get there)

Kon's shot prep on spot-ups is just obscene. Some of the best shot prep of any player ever.... Just don't think he can defend in the NBA.
