AJ comes off mostly like DeRozan.

We'll see if he's less empty calories than DeRozan in the NBA.

He's closer to young LeBron I think, not as big/athletic, but he has a great feel and can make the creative pass (and has a better 3 pt shot.)

AJ is averaging 20 points and 7 rebounds in 30 minutes. 57.4% from the field, 40% from 3 and 65% from the line (went 11-12 from the line today though) and BYU is looking like a final 4 caliber team.
Right on track for the start of his career.

Heard the announcer throw out a stat during the game.
Opponents are shooting 15% when AJ is the primary defender so far this year. Lockdown, shutdown 1 on 1 defense.
They did mention that his help defense is lacking though.
Apparently that 15% number is the 7th best in the country.
