Following Potential 2026 Draftees

Wagler/AJ/DP/Boozer/Flemings is my top 5, no order (but Flemings would definitely be #5). Maybe a rock solid 5 too. Maybe Wilson sneaks in there, but I wouldnt bet on it.

Think Wilson is cool, but he's not top 5 for me.

Ament/Brown are probably the two next players I see with the most star upside. Then guys like Carr/Steinbach/Haugh/Mullins/Lopez/Yaxel is probably my next group.

That’s solid for sure. My top-6 is pretty locked in with the same five as you and Wilson. Wilson would be at 4 with Kingston at 5 and Wagler at 6.

I think this is probably Ament's best game so far. He's being assertive and converting. I don't think he's explosive enough to be a team's first option right now. He takes too long to get to his spots, gather and make a decision. He also relies on shooting over defenders rather than creating space or gaining an advantage. But he might work as a secondary scorer and creator.

A lot of the same could have been said about Lauri coming out of Arizona, but Lauri had much stronger shooting numbers.

Ending bottom-4 should be this organization’s priority for the remainder of the season (it assures we keep the pick in a worst-case scenario, and raises the floor of the *likely* scenario that it falls top-6).

Someone might pop that gives us a clear 7th but it looks like a clear top-6 (DP/AJ/Booz/Caleb/Flemming/Wagler in some order) is emerging and I’d rather be on the right side of the dropoff.

I think Caleb Wilson has a physical presence on the interior that would really help the Jazz, since the Jazz's primary players are more perimeter oriented, and I think Will Hardy would find ways to maximize Wilson on both ends. Wilson has the potential to develop a couple moves that are nearly unguardable--like Kawhi's mid-range pull-up or maybe a post-up. That keeps Wilson safely inside the top 5 for me.

Wilson also has the tools to be a real impact defender if he wants to become one.

He also looks really mobile to me so we could shoehorn him into Lauri/Walker lineups. If Walker’s shooting is sufficiently real, then the limiting factor to those lineups would be defensive mobility on the perimeter (this is what I hate about the Boozer fit; feels like we’d have to make moves to accommodate).

I want AJ the most but Wilson is my #2
