Much increased offensive workload usually results in decline on the other end. With the Jazz he would be primarily a PoA defender who also takes some pressure off Key from being the sole ballhandler in the lineup. He could also lead the 2nd unit and thus pairs well with Brice.

I just cant get into him at his size. Not saying he cant or wont be good, but he isnt top 8 good to me.

I still love Carr even though I kind of stopped talking about him. Baylor is just such a bad team I find him hard to evaluate too much further. They just dont have any good guards or bigs outside of Carr. A team of mediocre skilled forwards around Carr,

I do think Ament's lack of top overall athleticism might hold him back from top 3 conversations, but he is starting to look extremely good. I also think Ament/Ace works. Ace is better off-ball and Ament is better on-ball.
 
Has there ever been a greater foul drawing freshman season for someone who shoots at least 10 shots per game? Ament is currently at .604

I'm just thinking of random foul baiters in the NBA who got picked. Cant find a damn one close to .604. Shai was at 0.46

This man might be a savant at foul drawing.
 
I love ament too. There are still great players beside the top 3. We need to do what the Pacers did last night. I understand we couldn't last night since we had literally no one else to play but we have 10 very winnable games against tanking teams left.
 
What's interesting about Wagler is that he literally had the same life story as DWill. A late boomer who wasn't even thinking about going pro just a couple of years ago...until the growth spurt happened. Not recruited at all within his home state despite being born and raised in a very competitive region. Only getting a scholarship from Illinois because his HS coach knew somebody. Not projected to be the man on the team but then played his way into the takeover.

Wagler's FT rate is .562. Not .604 but it's the closest I've seen. Almost twice as high as Flemings(.311) despite the latter being known for playing a much more physical game. Keyonte's FT rate at Baylor, by comparison, is .364.

He's got the ball a lot now. If you believe in his feel and decision-making with the ball, that's one of his main appeals. He can navigate and playmake more than the average long shooting wing.

I like Vecenie... I believe he was pretty low on the 2025 draft though... and its turned out really good thus far. I think NIL complicates these types of projections a bit... but I think the top of that draft looks really inferior to this one.
