THT is intriguing to me, but would want him at about 220-225. He’d still be plenty big enough and add some quickness.

He can lose 10 lbs and get down to around 225 lbs. He was at 9% body fat at the Combine. NBA training and diet can get him down to 6.5%. That will make him more explosive and probably get his vertical up to 36" or more. The kid is only 18 and can develop a lot physically from here. He's been coasting on his physical tools and talent so far. He's got a good handle and body control for a kid that size and that young.

He's a triple-threat player who can use his strength and wide body to beat smaller guards.

Kevin Porter Jr., Keldon Johnson and Talen Horton-Tucker

Sadly you're right. I think his floor is the Thunder at 21 (or wherever they are drafting)

KP Jr, then a tie for the last two. Gun to my head, I'll take THT.

If his mind's right, KP jr is head and shoulders above the other two and I realze that is a pretty big if. THT might become the next Dinner Bell Mel Turpin.

THT is by far the best and most willing passer. The Jazz want players who can 'create,' and THT can do that....assuming he does enough other things to get on the floor.

    Talent - KP, KJ, THT

As far as who to actually draft?

    Utah - KJ, THT, KP

I think Johnson is a lottery-caliber player. THT is young with insane measurables but needs time. KP has a bad attitude and doesn’t fit our culture.

The risk with KP is that he's a ball-stopper and iso player in the mold of a Nick Young, but I haven't watched him much. I don't think he got a Green Room invitation.

Keldon Johnson is an athletic 3/D guy. He's the kind of guy the Thunder would draft to play at SG next to Russ.

ESPN Insider (Givony) did a new mock after the AD trade.

    1. NOP - Zion
    2. MEM - Ja
    3. NYK - RJ
    4. NOP - Culver
    5. CLE - Garland
    6. PHX - Coby White
    7. CHI - Hunter
    8. ATL - Reddish
    9. WAS - Doumbouya
    10. ATL - Jaxson Hayes
    11. MIN - Nassir Little
    12. CHA - Rui Hachimura (like everyone is mocking Rui to Charlotte)
    13. MIA - PJ Washington
    14. BOS - Brandon Clarke
    15. DET - Romeo Langford (I see him mocked to DET a lot too)
    16. ORL - Tyler Herro
    17. ATL - Mfiondu Kabengele
    18. IND - NAW
    19. SAS - Goga Bitadze
    20. BOS - Bol Bol
    21. OKC - Cameron Johnson
    22. BOS - Kevin Porter Jr.
    23. UTA - Keldon Johnson: "With rotation wing players Kyle Korver and Thabo Sefolosha both in their mid-to-late 30s and not a great deal of depth behind them, the Jazz might consider adding another small forward they can start grooming to eventually play their style of basketball. EVP Dennis Lindsey has long valued toughness, versatility and 3-point shooting -- all strengths for Johnson. Although his struggles creating offense off the dribble caused his stock to fall somewhat, Johnson won't need to be much of a ballhandler on this team in the short term."
    24. PHI - Thybulle
    25. POR - Okpala (seen him mocked here a lot too)
    26. CLE - Ty Jerome
    27. BKN - Luguentz Dort
    28. GSW- Eric Paschall
    29. SAS - Darius Bazley
    30. MIL - Luka Samanic
    31. BKN - ? Didn't get posted but I'm gonna assume it's Nic Claxton
    32. PHX - Grant Williams
    33. PHI - Talen Horton-Tucker
    34. PHI - Carsen Edwards
    35. ATL - Dylan Windler
    36. CHA - Admiral Schofield
    37. DAL - Bruno Fernando
    38. CHI - Isaiah Roby
    39. NOP - Terence Davis
    40. SAC - Daniel Gafford
    41. ATL - Chuma Okeke
    42. PHI - Jontay Porter
    43. MIN - DaQuan Jeffries
    44. ATL - Deividas Sirvydis
    45. DET - Tremont Waters
    46. ORL - Shamorie Ponds
    47. SAC - Jordan Poole (ha Waters, Ponds, Poole)
    48. LAC - Jalen Lecque
    49. SAS - Naz Reid
    50. IND - Louis King
    51. BOS - Miye Oni
    52. CHA - Zylan Cheatham
    53. UTA - Justin Robinson
    54. PHI - Joshua Obiesie
    55. NYK - Jaylen Hoard
    56. LAC - Jalen McDaniels
    57. NOP - Jordan Bone
    58. GSW - Alen Smailagic
    59. TOR - Marcos Lousada Silva
    60. SAC - Yovel Zoosman

If Philly gets Thybulle, THT and Carsen Edwards, that''s an awfully nice draft for them.

Regarding Atlanta, if they take Jaxson Hayes in the top 10, I don't think they'll take a big at #17. They are also trying to move some of their picks. The Jazz should offer Tony Bradley and #53 to ATL for #44 or to PHI for #42. The Jazz could take Paschall or Brazdeikis (both of whom seem to be missing in this mock).

I don't see Nic Claxton. That's probably the guy missing at #31.

Getting guys like Gafford and Fernando in the late 30s or 40s is pretty amazing.

This dude Martin Krampelj worked out for the Jazz the other day. Anyone know anything about him? 6'9" with a 6'11" wingspan. 24 years old.

    Oof...
Probably just gonna be a camp body then go overseas. He still looks pretty athletic for his size despite the knee injuries.

Kevin Porter Jr* > THT > KJ

With one huge asterisk - I have no idea what to think of Porter's attitude and off-field stuff... he might be in the untouchable category if our intel shows there is serious worry about attitude.

Sam Vecenie said he talked to KP Jr for a long time and said he's definitely not a bad kid and that he had been a model citizen since his USC suspension. But he still said that teams worry about him and that if he drafted him he would hire a player development coach from Seattle to help him transition to the NBA. Hiring someone from his city to help him out sounds kind of weird if you believe in his character though...

Right now, I think if the Jazz stay at #23, they'll draft Kab, Okpala or Bruno. Windler and Paschall are sleeper picks. Those are all rotation players and potentially starting-caliber players. If Keldon Johnson drops, the Jazz will probably take him.

It doesn't seem like they're buying in on Bazley. I'm not sure if they want to wait and develop Horton-Tucker. I'd be surprised if they draft Dort, unless he shows some hope of being able to shoot. I have no idea what they think about Claxton or Samanic. Carsen Edwards is most likely going to be a back-up, similar to Seth Curry.

Kevin Porter Jr. may be one of the two players who canceled the workout with the Jazz yesterday due to injury. KPJ just canceled his workout with the Wizards tomorrow.

Idk why we'd take Kabengele or Fernando. I know you always draft for talent over need. But realistically a backup center is like the least valuable position we could possibly draft. Gobert is playing the majority of minutes there for the foreseeable future. And decent backup 5's aren't too terribly hard to find.

It makes more sense to draft a 4 you hope can maybe develop into a good fit next to Rudy, a wing because of the value they provide (plus Jingles is no spring chicken), or a guard you hope can develop into a good fit next to Donovan.

Backup centers are more or less easy to find, but not good ones with upside. The Jazz could very well lose Derrick Favors and Ekpe Udoh, and Gobert could get hurt and miss some games. I think the Jazz would love to have a big who can shoot, as well as roll, rebound and rim-protect. They love having a second big who can come in and keep the defense and roll-game going. That's actually a pretty tall order. Maybe Bradley is enough, but I don't get the feeling the Jazz are happy with his development.

Again, I think the Jazz are going to be seriously tempted by Okpala, if they're on the clock at #23. It depends on whether they think he's athletic enough and can shoot well enough. If not, then they'd look at Windler and Paschall. A 6'9", 2-way wing who can break the paint is something they don't have on their roster.
